on Saintsreport.com, and I have the Broncos again this year. So far, the draft has been a bit unpredictable. Who would be a better fit out of the players listed at 12?
here is how the picks have gone so far.... Quote:

Brown is an intriguing value because he can rush the passer while Jenkins might be the best overall value on the board. With that, I'd be torn between Jackson and Cushing who both appear to be safe picks who could help at positions of need right away. I'd probably go with Cushing and cross my fingers Marks falls to our pick in round 2.

I would have to go with Cushing because he brings so much more to the table. Because of Cushing's knowledge of the position and understanding of game planning and his experience as Carroll's field general, he's not just going to be a guy who plays a position. He's going to play his position, coach his fellow players, call the plays, encourage those around him, plus be a strong influence in the lockeroom. The guy is a film junkie as well as a nutrition and fitness fanatic (remember Romanowski?). While I think those other guys will be good at their positions, Cushing gives you a lot more bang for the buck.

did i see this correctly that the "GM" for CLE took a QB!!?? Uh, are they aware that only 1 QB plays at a time unless their name ends with Ward, Stewart or even Wallace??

I know it to might be consider to high, but I think Gilbert might be the choice. The other candidate should be Jenkins.

Just a quick update on how things are going:
Quote:
I think Irvin will be a better defensive end in the pros. Especially in a 3-4. Picked up a third 5th round pick to move down a few slots in the 3rd... Taking a QB in the 6th or 7th, and thinking Nathan Brown from Central Arkansas. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1278598 Other pick will be best player available, which has been my main strategy anyway. |

How about a DE?!?!?!?!? JEEZ!!
Heres a guy who you may consider, see if hes been taken yet. Orion Martin, Virginia Tech Height: 6-2. Weight: 260. Projected 40 Time: 4.70. Combine 40 Time: 4.88. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.70. Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 31. Projected Round (2009): 5-6. 1/9/09: Orion Martin finished strong, collecting 13 TFL, 7.5 sacks and four passes broken up. 5/7/08: Probably a right end in the 3-4 at the next level. Orion Martin notched 78 tackles and 4.5 sacks last season. High motor guy!!! Also, as for a QB, Mike Reilly, Central Washington Height: 6-3. Weight: 214. Projected 40 Time: 4.80. Combine 40 Time: 4.92. Hand Size: 10. Projected Round (2009): 5-6. 12/20/08: Will play in the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Game. He compiled 3,706 yards, 37 touchdowns and only six picks as a senior. OR Curtis Painter, Purdue Height: 6-3. Weight: 225. Projected 40 Time: 4.85. Combine 40 Time: 4.92. Hand Size: 9 1/4. Projected Round (2009): 7-FA. 12/20/08: Curtis Painter had 13 touchdowns and 11 picks, and a pedestrian YPA of 6.3. I blame Joe Tiller, who can't coach his way out of a paper bag. |

BPA. Munnerlyn is a good returner and special teams guy.....And Champ can't play forever.

I also was looking at safeties, but none have matched the draft position I was at.

I've finished...
Quote:
The Bronco’s are in a similar position to the Saints,(well, they were until the Cutler trade) with a powerful offense and a very suspect defense. With a new scheme (3-4), new players were needed. I think I did much better in the later rounds, as Irvin, Potter, and Egboh all could contribute very early to a need position. Brace I think starts from day one, and Munnerlyn forms a killer return tandem with Eddie Royal. Here's to a great draft for you guys. I wish nothing but the best towards the Broncos and you fans.
