(Rotoworld) Profootballtalk.com is "hearing" that the Redskins have interest in Jay Cutler.
Analysis: An internet rumor circulated Tuesday that a three-team deal sending Brady Quinn to Denver, Chris Cooley and Jason Campbell to Cleveland, and Cutler and Tony Scheffler to D.C. would be announced at 5PM, but it never was. PFT indicates that the Skins do have interest in Cutler, though. Perhaps Dan Snyder and Pat Bowlen will talk at the March 22-25 Owners' Meetings. Per CBS sports, I only post the rumors I know are such. |

CBF1....you had me going for a minute there. Man if a Cutler trade ever comes to fruition, I'm going to be really mad/upset. I'm trying to prepare mentally for that day.....I feel its coming.

A bit of advice. Never ever listen to Florio when it comes to football. He's a former attorney so he only knows legal matter like suspensions. And because he's a former attorney, he can make up as much BS as he wants without having to worry about being sued.

If we're giving up Cutler and Scheffler, we should be getting at least Brady Quinn and two firsts in return.

My buddy has season tickets to the Skins. He said he'd happily give their draft for Cutler. (they have 4 picks)
Campbell is not developing at all. |

There's at least 2 threads that discuss the actual article from the DC Examiner

Gutler and Scheffler for Quinn... and WHAT ELSE?
Washington would have to give up A LOT more to make this work. We're talking like WELCOME HOME CLINTON PORTIS! btw, wherever Cutler ends up, it will probably be the place that ends up getting Shanny next. That has to be another attractive option about acquiring BabyCutler. The Skins would fit as they were ready to get rid of Zorn after one season. Short of a deep playoff run next year, he is gone! |

we're getting raped in that deal if all we are getting is Quinn and Landry. that had better be we get Quinn and washington and Cleveland's 1st's this year for that to even be slightly ammusing.
this is where we could use Mike. if he was in charge of this trade he would fleece Washington for Landry, Portis and their 1st, and then on top of that get Quinn and Rodgers from Cleveland. he may have sucked in personell aquisitions as a GM, but he was a badass when it came to trades. PFT is a good source for NFL news. If you even bothered to keep track, you'd realize that Florio is actually on the money far more than you as well as many others give him credit for. Their latest scoop turned out to be accurate, and, as far as I know, they were by far the first outlet to report it (it being the Peterson-Redding swap over the weekend). |

(Satire)
This is unconfirmed. However, an inside source says a trade will bring Jay Cutler to Washington is almost complete. The leak came roughly about one hour ago. Negotiations between Cutler’s agent, Pat Bowlen, Daniel Snyder, and the Cleveland Browns management have been ongoing for a few days and all sides seem to be happy. The deal would see Jay Cutler, Tony Scheffler, and Cleveland’s third round pick going to Washington. Jason Campbell and Chris Cooley going to Cleveland and one of Denver’s fifth round picks. Brady Quinn going from Cleveland to Denver, and LaRon Landry from Washington will be going to Denver. We thought that the Bailey-Portis trade was big. Our source says that teams will announce the deal at 5 p.m. this evening. Not bad, still think we should receive a pick and a relatively high one at that. Cutler and Scheffler for Quinn and Landry. Quinn, Landry, and the Skins 1st and you have a deal! That would (quite possibly) give us 1.) Brady Quinn- Knowledge of Weiss/McD's offensive system and philosophy. 2.) LaRon Landry- Great athlete and young. Hasn't lived up to the hype though. 3.) Tyson Jackson- With the Broncos #12 pick in the 2009 draft. Best available option to fill the 3-4 end role. 4.) Ray Maualuga- With the Skins #13 pick in the 2009 draft. Goes a long way toward making our defense respectable. We could also go a couple different directions with the #12 pick. Maclin or Crabtree slide... you're not hamstrung and stuck having to go with Jackson b/c there is good depth later on and you have the next pick! But, if this was just Quinn and Landry for Cutler and Scheff... I'd think we got ripped of pretty good! |

Too much money. And, looking back at it, the Skins would be giving up Campbell, Cooley, Landry, and their first. In return they would get Cutler and Scheffler. Cleveland would get Campbell and Cooley and only give up Quinn.
I think the Browns would have to give up a 3rd and the Broncos likely a 4th or 5th to make it happen. |

Anything from the bleacherreport is such... but this is a trade that makes some sense. Mainly b/c I think that Quinn is an attractive option since he has knowledge of the system and has proven that he can be effective (even if it was at the collegiate level) within McD's framework.
