Sun: Ravens' Rolle on the way out
Buzz up!Like this story? Share it with Yahoo! Buzz
Ravens CB Samari Rolle expects to be cut by the team Monday.

"I anticipate it happening. I'm happy," Rolle told The Baltimore Sun. "Everyone got what they wanted out of this. I wish the Ravens nothing but the best of luck."

The move is expected to free up $4.1 million in salary-cap room for the Ravens, who signed CB Domonique Foxworth to a 4-year, $27 million deal at the start of free agency. Foxworth, who attended Maryland, is expected to start along with Fabian Washington.

The Ravens also released longtime starting CB Chris McAlister, a member of the 2000 Super Bowl champions, Feb. 16.

The team's defense is likely to have quite a different look with former coordinator Rex Ryan, LB Bart Scott and S Jim Leonhard all joining the New York Jets, Ryan as the team's new head coach.

MLB Ray Lewis did sign a new deal with the team, meaning he is likely to finish his illustrious career as a Raven.

BTW, I never agreed with cutting Fox in the 1st place.

Might as well make a trifecta in the seconday and sign either Rolle or McAllister....

Unless that seventh is more Peyton Hillis and less 99.9% of all other 7th rounders, it effectively kinda was.

Absolutely. I hated it. There HAD to be some sort of internal issue. Wolf claims the other corners resented him, but that's Wolf, so who the hell knows.

Foxworth was a good pick. It blew ass when we traded him to Atlanta...we would have been better off with him starting opposite Bailey rather than Bly, but what can you do? Hope Foxworth does good in Baltimore.

Foxworth, since leaving us has done nothing except excel to the top of the Falcon's depth chart at corner and now get picked up on a big FA deal to replace Rolle on one of the league's top defensive units.
