I remember him having the fasted 40 time of any lineman a few years ago at the combine.

I'm surprised we're not looking at McAlister or Rolle for CB depth. Maybe waiting for the price to come down, they are probably both over valuing themselves.

Comment: Young has served as a backup guard over the last three years in Philadelphia. He is a strong player who converted to the offensive line prior to his senior season in college at BYU. He has some size with above-average athletic skills for the position. He is still somewhat raw in his development and technique as both a run-blocker and pass-blocker. He has decent lateral slide and agility, while matching up versus speedy upfield rushers. Young doesn't have a lot of anchor and can be overpowered versus power rushers. Overall, he is still a young, developing player who continues to need reps and playing time at this stage of his development.

Oh hell yea! This is the signing that I've been asking for since FA started. Now I could care less if Cutler is traded, Marshall is suspended, we don't fix the D, and so on.

Hmmm. His name is Young and he was born in Salt Lake and he went to BYU. Any Kaylore/Mormon insider info on this guy? Related to Steve, and a descendant of Brigham, perhaps?

The Broncos on Friday added offensive lineman Scott Young to their roster, signing the free-agent guard to a contract, the team said. Young, a fifth-year pro who played last season with Cleveland and Philadelphia, has played in 14 career games and never started. The 6-foot-4, 312 pounds lineman entered the NFL in 2005, as a fifth-round draft choice of the Eagles. Young played collegiately at Brigham Young for two seasons. He didn't start as an offensive lineman until his senior season, when he switched from defensive line. could they be looking at him for D-line ![]() |

Young to compete for starting spot
The Denver Broncos brought in more competition for coach Josh McDaniel's first training camp by signing Browns backup guard Scott Young Friday. Terms of the deal weren't immediately available. Young becomes the 14th offseason signing for the Broncos, but he is the first addition to the offensive line. Young, 27, was a fifth-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2005. He spent three seasons with the Eagles and the past two with the Browns. He's played in 14 games in four seasons, but has never started. John Clayton is senior NFL writer for ESPN.com. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3978280 Really a starting spot? WTF ESPiN? |

Perhaps McTard thinks our O-Line needs to be completely redone as well.

"Young wowed observers during the 2005 NFL Scouting Combine when he bench pressed 225 pounds an astounding 43 times, just two shy of the combine record."
