I know I don't have enough posts.....but I put in the time to look at the current roster (since there has been so much change) and if the Broncos had to play today, what would it look like (mostly to see where the team is weakest). Here is what I came up with (45 players that I think have a good shot at the final roster). I am sure there will be differing opinions about who plays where and I hope I didn't miss somebody.
QB - Cutler, Simms HB - Buckhalter, Arrington, Torain, Jordan, Young FB - Hillis, Pinnock WR - Marshall, Royal, Gaffney, Stokely, Jackson TE - Graham, Scheffler T - Clady, Harris, Polumbus G - Hamilton, Kuper, Lichtensteiger C - Weigmann, Lichtensteiger NT - Fields DE - Thomas, Peterson, Powell OLB - Boss Bailey, Dumerville, Moss, Reid, Woodyard ILB - Davis, Williams, Larsen, CB - Champ Bailey, Goodman, Bell, Williams S - Dawkins, Hill, Barrett K - Prater P - Kern LS - Paxton |

I think Powell will end up on the Nose. Young Won't make the team. We have set ourselves up so that we can draft any position.

Woodyard won't be an OLB.

I don't think Woodyard is a good fit in the 3-4, but I at least want him on special teams....

I'd skratch the FB all together and put Hillis at #2 (although he'll be #1 by seasons end.)
Honestly, I'd REALLY prefer to see DJ on the outside. He's much better playing the outside. My DC: QB - Cutler, Simms HB - Buckhalter, Hillis, Jordan, Arrington, Torain WR - Marshall, Royal, Stokely, Gaffney Jackson TE - Graham, Scheffler T - Clady, Harris, Polumbus G - Hamilton, Kuper, Lichtensteiger C - Weigmann, Lichtensteiger NT - Fields DE - Thomas, Peterson, Powell OLB - Williams, Dumerville, Bailey, Moss, Reid, Woodyard ILB - Davis, Larsen CB - Champ Bailey, Goodman, Bell, Williams S - Dawkins, Hill, Barrett ... Woodyard Boss Bailey![]() K - Prater P - Kern LS - Paxton What about putting Woodyard or Bailey at SS? When both of them were drafted I remmember hearing talk aoubt these college linebackers switching to safeties at the NFL level. Seems to me like we have a linbacking corps with a whole lot of crowded mid-range talent, and minus Williams, no real stars. Woodyard is a badass, and he should get a lot of playing time. Not built to be an OLB in the 3-4 and not big enough to be an ILB... move him to safety. The dude ran a 4.5. |

Looking at it, I would agree.....probably scratch Pinnock and just have Hillis play it when needed. I would love Woodyard to play safety, but I am not sure he can do it....time will tell.

I think Woodyard would make a GREAT SS. I also like the prospect of putting Bailey at SS - he'd be in that backfield with his brother. Signing Renaldo Hill kinda threw that off... Dawkins will start, maybe at FS, and I see Hill starting too. Goodness, I hope Raji falls to 12. I still see problems with the DL. The biggest problem is that all our DE's are now LB's, and our DT's are now DE's. I hope we bring in Olshansky to have a look at LDE, and just bring in a badass mofo like Raji for the NT position. Another argument for moving our smallish, fast linebackers (Woodyard, Bailey) to safety. Last edited by Swedish Extrovert; 03-05-2009 at 07:17 AM.. |
