Default McDaniels: Cutler will not be traded by Broncos

Since word broke Saturday that Jay Cutler’s name had come up in trade discussions, rumors have run rampant.

There has been speculation that Cutler could be traded to the Vikings, the Browns, the Buccaneers, the Jets — basically any team with a need at quarterback. But new Broncos coach Josh McDaniels spoke out Tuesday afternoon and attempted to squash any and all existing speculation.

“Let me be as clear as I can about this,” McDaniels said when reached at his office Tuesday afternoon. “We are not trading Jay Cutler — period.”

Let those words ring around the NFL, the Internet, the blogosphere, sports-talk radio. No matter how much trade talk there is regarding Cutler, it is not originating from Denver and, to the disappointment of many, it is not happening. In fact, further proof that Denver fully intends to keep Cutler is evidenced in its action. McDaniels and Cutler are scheduled to meet next week.

Just incase the wack-jobs missed this.

You mean to tell me the Broncos aren't gonna do that fantastic deal the newspaper in Chicago is talking all about. How can we pass on this? I mean for real. Kyle Orton and a late 1st round pick. Is this management totally crazy or what? How can we pass up that sweet deal? Last time I watched Orton his arm was like a frickin canon and his pure athleticism is off the charts. He's easily a top 5 QB. He'd throw for 5K in our system.

Dont forget the generous third round pick Haugh threw in. Its actually a good idea for Chicago to throw themelves at this but the article youre referring too is well short of what it would take to make it happen. My favorite part of the article was how it referred to Orton as a solid QB. OK, sure. Thats why you want a different QB.

We were considering trading Jay Cutler WTF! We should think of some nicknames for McDaniels. Something clever like McIdiot or something.

And because the new coach has so much credibility. Didn't he say one of his strong suits was communication? I guess Jay's phone is McDumbass's kryptonite.
