OK, granted it is almost 5 in the morning and I am a little drunk. Well, maybe more than just a little. Fine. Whatever.
Anyways, I'm surfing the net and one thing leads to another (you know how it works) and I find myself confronted with a wiki revelation that boggles my mind. Here it is: Mannheim Steamroller. Who, you ask? Exhibit A: So, you ask? Well, it just so happens that this is the 65th best-selling music artist in United States history (as of December 2008 and based on certifications of albums by the RIAA.) WTF. I've never in my life heard of this tripe. (The "artist(s)" anyway.) This just boggles my mind. Who in the @#$% has ever listened to this @#$%? Well, apparently a lot of people. 1 The Beatles 2 Garth Brooks 3 Elvis Presley 4 Led Zeppelin 5 The Eagles 6 Billy Joel 7 Pink Floyd 8 Barbra Streisand 9 AC/DC 10 Elton John 11 George Strait 12 Aerosmith 13 Rolling Stones 14 Madonna 15 Bruce Springsteen 16 Mariah Carey 17 Michael Jackson 18 Metallica 19 Van Halen 20 Whitney Houston 21 Kenny Rogers 22 U2 Ireland 23 Celine Dion 24 Neil Diamond 25 Fleetwood Mac 26 Kenny G 27 Shania Twain 28 Journey 29 Alabama 30 Guns N' Roses 31 Santana 32 Eric Clapton 33 Alan Jackson 34 Bob Seger 35 Reba McEntire 36 Prince 37 Simon and Garfunkel 38 Chicago 39 Foreigner 40 Bob Dylan 41 Backstreet Boys 42 Rod Stewart 43 2Pac 44 Willie Nelson 45 Def Leppard 46 Tim McGraw 47 Bon Jovi 48 Phil Collins 49 James Taylor 50 R. Kelly 51 John Denver 52 Queen 53 Britney Spears 54 The Doors 55 Dave Matthews Band 56 Boston 57 Dixie Chicks 58 Linda Ronstadt 59 Pearl Jam 60 Tom Petty 61 Ozzy Osbourne 62 'N Sync 63 Lynyrd Skynyrd 64 Michael Bolton 65 Mannheim Steamroller 66 Barry Manilow 67 John Mellencamp 68 Frank Sinatra 69 Eminem 70 Boyz II Men 71 Brooks & Dunn 72 Enya Ireland 73 Janet Jackson 74 Creedence Clearwater Revival 75 The Bee Gees 76 Jay-Z 77 Faith Hill 78 Creed 79 Rush 80 Nirvana 81 ZZ Top 82 Luther Vandross 83 Steve Miller Band 84 The Carpenters 85 Vince Gill 86 Toby Keith 87 Mötley Crüe 88 Earth, Wind & Fire 89 The Cars 90 Jimmy Buffett 91 The Police 92 Sade 93 Jimi Hendrix 94 Kenny Chesney 95 Doobie Brothers 96 Outkast 97 TLC 98 Green Day 99 REO Speedwagon 100 Lionel Richie Maybe I should go back to using illicit drugs. Things made more sense then. |

And the video you posted isn't the famous music house of legend. You're thinking of the Carson Williams home. Here is their portfolio. http://www.consarlights.com/portfolio.php |

Ah, no one called you a gutless drunk yet!
They are an acquired taste, and I dont like them personally. However, those that like them really like them. Not overly surprising they are that successful. They have been around a while. |

You take issue with Manheim Steamroller at 65, yet Kenny G at 26 doesn't even phase you?

Who doesn't love the steamroller? It wouldn't be Christmas without them!
My parents love the steamroller. I can't say that I do. Although I do get a good chuckle every time I hear one of their songs. I can't help but remember another album in my parents collection (way back when)... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wa..._Galactic_Funk |

It's sales and that's the only thing it measures. Don't pay attention to the charts, dig deeper.

Manheim was usually forgettable to me. Thrilled to see Led Zeppelin as high as they are. In pure shock that Journey and Guns N Roses are above Santana and totally disgusted by the fact that Willie Nelson is on anyone's radar.

Chip Davis also wrote the music for C. W. McCall.
