As a child I was playing in the sand box, in my tough skins, and I crapped my pants (hey I was a kid) and for whatever reason, Sears refused to take them back. They said I had not damaged the pants, but that they did need to be professionally cleaned. My mom begged to differ, but alas, she did not prevail.

Just gotta look for the deals. if you do that you can get some great clothing for small prices. Especially these days now that people aren't spending - not that I advocate being frivolous but if you have a secure income stream then its not unreasonable to splurge a bit.
Bought an Armani suit for $600 - 75% off the original price. Of course that's for special occasions. I really like Tailorbyrd shirts - slim fitted dress shirts with great patterns. They normally run $100 each but on sale for $30. As for slacks picked up a nice pair of Hugo Boss grey pants for $35. That said I think the real key is to find the brands that fit you well. I'm more of the somewhat skinny type but with reasonably broad shoulders so I look for shirts that are very tapered - I don't have the lats to pull off wearing shirts that aren't. As for jeans I agree with anyone who says buy the jeans that fit well and are comfortable. Really expensive jeans just don't look all that much bettter IMO then middle of the road pairs. Personally though I like Paper Denim quite a bit - have 2 pairs and both look good and are exceptionally comfortable. |

Growing up I had two pairs of Tough Skins, one red pair, one green pair. That's all I needed. Giddy-Up!

I have paid $80 for DKNY jeans. I like how they fit.
But I have also paid $30 for Levi's and once got a pair for $8 on clearance and I also like how they fit... |

i think its funny that so many people in this thread are listing brands that are cheap (in price and not the style that people who are looking for quality clothing want) are doing it intentionally to try and prove to me or others that they are too manly for nice clothing. again, im asking for brands that a mid twenties college student is going to wear to the bar, not what to wear to drive a truck or the kids to school.

first impressions are near impossible to change, and if i want to dress nicely if for nothing else because i like to, its what im going to do. heres the funny thing about clothes: you get clothes that expresses who you are. nice isnt it? which is why im asking for brands so i can look and find something that fits me, not a bunch of old married guys telling me to go to walmart. women have a very keen sense of fashion, if you dress like **** they know it, it says a lot about, if nothing else, your income. |
