There is so much whining and moaning about how terribly hard our schedule is next year I thought a refresher was in Order. Up top you will find the Power Rankings from the end of this year. On the bottom the end of last year. A quick comparison will note how little they have in common. This means.

We have as good a chance to have a good season next year as we did this year. You don't know how good the teams you are playing will be until the end of the game.

Nobody knows how hard the schedule is going to be. This time last year you were probably thinking a game with AZ was a done deal. Look at all the coaching changes around the league this year. For that matter, look no farther then the Broncos. What kind of team will they field? You really have no clue looking forward from today. Think about it.

With the exception of Pittsburgh, the teams I am not looking forward to playing didn't move much at all on your two lists.

Agreed...its an annoying argument. The NFL landscape usually changes pretty drastically each year

Atlanta, Carolina were supposed to be cake this year, for instance.

I agree you cant really tell anything from year to year but the teams we play next year traditionally field very good teams. Pitt is always good, so are the colts and new england, all the teams in the nfc east are always competitive. And the bengals wont be a walk in the park either with palmer healthy.

I have to disagree. We were terrible on defense last year and will be starting a bunch of noobs. For people that say our offense will help us, they will be learning an entirely new system.

A lot of the teams we are playing that were good last year are good every year (Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Giants) too.

Now I admit that with injuries and who knows what else, things often look very different in the regular season. However this is a case where I think it's going to be brutal all year.

NPR is right ... schedules that look hard (or easy) at first often look different once the season starts.

Agreed. As much as we have to worry about fixing the team first, our opponents are very solid, tough and consistent. Sure, there are plenty of teams who are up and down, but when ya look at the defenses alone of our opponents the word consistent comes to mind. Pitt, NYG, Bmore, Philly, NE, etc. So I'll go on a limb and say that, yes, our schedule will be a b****.
