Default Gun Laws

Ok I might be a little country so let me know. I grew up on a farm and drove around with a rifle in my gun rack for years at a time. I also like to go hiking in the mountains and usually take a pistol with me. If I am speeding and have this gun in the passenger seat could I go get a felony charge?

Its kind of ironic.... I just had a heated debate with someone about what exactly constitues a concealed weapon. I dont actually know someone that has gotten a charge for a concealed weapon. Anyone?

Technically you can't get arrested convicted as long as it's not concealed.

I keep it in the holster or in its case. I may or may not put a bag of granola on it.

I think the best thing to do is hold the weapon with your left hand out the window stearing with the right to ensure its not concealed..

Should you be wearing a viking helmet with the horns aflame when you do that?

I got pulled over with a pistol in the glove box and I can confirm that is very much considered a concealed weapon. I was instructed to put it up on the dash of the truck thus making if perfectly legal.

The best thing to do is get yourself a CCP

It also a very good idea during a traffic stop to alert the officer of the presence of a weapon. They will be very thankful.

Well, Honestly i just went through th concealed weapons class two weeks ago. The question was brought up, in the great state of KY you can have a pistol in your club box with a loaded mag inside. Legally without having a concealed weapon permit. Now to your question, you can have the weapon as long as you can prove you are in transit from point a to b. Meaing you just came from the range, and are on your way home, or you just came from camping and are on your way. BUTTTT if you make a stop between there it is not legal. That's what the instructor told us, I agree with Dortoh, go get a concealed weapons permit, and be done with it. Here it cost 75 to take the class, and 25 to the sheriffs office and 60 to the state police for background check. Also, you never know what the new president going to do with gun control so if you want to do it better do it asap, thats just my thought!!!

I about went jail in Utah with a pistol in my window . I had one shell in it and they were about to put hand cuffs on when they told me I was alright because my 44 that I had to cock my hammer then pull the trigger .

Crazy . I had ten cop cars all around me I scared to death. he tells me you can put the shell back in if you like as he hands me my gun . I look back(wide eyed) and say I will never drive with bullets in my gun again .

Dont consent to a search of your vehicle for any reason. Just looking at you & knowing that you are speeding isnt probable cause to search a vehicle for a firearm, or dope, or anything.

I bet that would go something like this:

" fficer, I know Spider"
"Who"
"You know Spider, post on the Mane"
"What the mane? and why do I care about an insect"
"Officer you know Spider, guy drives a semi with 80's "flames" on it"
"You mean the guy that had coat pissed on by a dog. **** you're free to go and keep that thong wearing trucker out of my state!"
