With the 83rd pick in the draft, the Greenbay Packers select:

Dorrell Scott, DT Clemson ( 6'4, 310 5.02 40)

Positives: Prototypical frame for a defensive lineman. Good initial quickness off the snap, Good balance and COD skills.

Negatives: Not consistent, sometimes comes off the snap high, and struggles with leverage. Can have his strength negated and knocked off the ball.

Why Scott: Good size and upside trumps inconsistencies in his game. Can be a 3/4 end or a 4/3 tackle.

****Announcement****

We will be extending picks to 24 hours and encouraging General Managers to use as much of the time as they need. This is in consequence to the vote to add the official comped picks coming out of the owners meeting probably by next Wednesday. Once the official picks are announced and added, we will resume the draft at the original pace.

Should we still finish the third round before the official picks are announced, we will pause the draft until they are and then resume as normal. Hopefully we won't have to do that, though.

Also of critical importance:

This picture is really hot.

Thank you for your time.

The Eagles are excited that Shawn Nelson is still available and use the 84th* pick in the draft to select him.

SHAWN NELSON

Height: 6-5 | Weight: 240 | 40-Time: 4.56

Strengths:
Good height with a rangy build and long arms...Frame has room to add weight...A fantastic athlete...Good speed and quickness...Vertical threat who can stretch the field...Gets good separation...Excellent hands...Nice ball skills and body control...Can create after the catch...Tough...Technically sound and gives good effort as a blocker...Has a lot of experience...Very productive... Good bloodlines.

Weaknesses:
Needs to bulk up but has trouble maintaining weight...Is not very strong...Not a dominant in-line blocker and can be physically overwhelmed...A relatively average route runner...May have some minor durability concerns...Probably won't be a good fit for everyone.

Notes:
Cousin of former L.S.U. and current Kansas City Chiefs DT Glenn Dorsey...A four-year starter...Finished his college career ranked in the Golden Eagles Top 5 in career receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns...Saved the best for last and had a terrific senior campaign...Somewhat of a one-dimensional pass catcher who in many ways is a wide receiver in a tight ends body...Awfully similar to Martin Rucker of the Cleveland Browns (4th Round Pick in '08) , only better.

With the 86th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins are pleased to select

CB from Virginia Tech
Victor "Macho" Harris

Harris is a spunky player that has incredible ball skills and plays with an attitude. The Dolphins are extremely happy to have had him fall all the way to them in round three.

Miami will use his "Macho" style in their marketing campaign as they have a large Cuban populace to appease. Huge billboards of Macho's mexi-stache will be put all over the city. It will be awesome. People will visit just to see the mustache. People who don't like it are probably communists and Fidel can piss off.

Pick was made at 1:30 PM MST

They had me take over for BFDD and Giants... but they are all yours. Better for me anyway.

That would be great. Eddie Mac and Req were tag teaming it as is, so we'll let Eddie finish the Giants. Thanks a lot.

With the 89th selection in the Magnificent, Glorious and Obviously Best Mock Draft on the OM, the Pats select:

Scott McKillop LB 6'1" 240 Pittsburgh

STRENGTHS
Scott is a football players' football player. He has good size and burst to the play and is a head up, wrap up, squeeze and drive tackler. He is very smart, almost like a coach out on the field. He makes the players around him better and looks to be an excellent teammate. Scott is the type of player who is in on every play either physically or because he helped put someone else in position so they could make a play. He does a great job defending against the run and the pass athletically, however, his true strengths are his instincts and intelligence.

NEEDS TO IMPROVE
Scott is athletic enough to play more than one position, but his speed limits him to playing as a LB in a 3-4 defensive system. He reminds me a lot of Mike Vrabel who originally was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round (91st pick) and then cut.

TALENT BOARD ROUND 2
Scott is one of my favorite players in this draft. I'm not totally convinced that he can only play in a 3-4 system, but nowadays when you see defenses with very light MLB's who are better against the pass than the run. I guess at some point I have to say that a Scott McKillop with all his savvy, instincts and pure tackling ability is not what NFL teams with 4-3 defenses are looking for anymore. Here is the ironic twist. Scott is exactly what the 3-4 defenses are looking for -- a multi-talented, smart, instinctive player who can tackle and lead his teammates. It seems the successful 3-4 defenses need, and appreciate, players like Scott. The unsuccessful 4-3 defenses seem to feel that they need MLB's who "catch" players after they have made first downs. In my opinion, players like Scott are the reason teams are going more to the 3-4 defense. I think Scott can play in any style of defense, but I give him a 2 talent board round (TBR) because nowadays, he is a systems LB. I split the difference between 1 and 4 and came up with 2. It's my guess you will see Scott drafted in the third or fourth round and even then, when Scott gets on the field, the only time anyone will notice him is when the game is over and they look at the stats. He will have the most tackles and the most tackles for losses. Even then I'm not sure he will be appreciated! I call him Scott (Old School) McKillop because he understands his position better than most coaches who are about to draft him.

Actually had a discussion with Ludo and he'll be finishing the Giants considering I've so many Patriot picks left in OM I.

Ok, JCMElway will update the list (hopefully soon) including Ludo as the new Giants GM as well as the comp picks. Drek is on the clock.

With the 88th Pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Ravens are please to select:

Antoine Caldwell, C

Alabama

Caldwell is the anchor in the middle of an Alabama offensive line that has been arguably the biggest reason for the No. 1 Crimson Tide's success through nine games. Most recently against Tennessee he did not allow a sack, a pressure, or get penalized. The center has good size at 6'3'' and 300 pounds, but it is his foot speed that sets him apart. Caldwell's agility and lateral movement (not to mention that he has run under 5.0 in the 40-yard-dash) allow him to play anywhere on the line. He has bounced around from right guard to left guard and center throughout his career in Tuscaloosa and he is about as experienced as they come. Caldwell started 12 games as a freshman in 2005, extended that streak to 25 by the end of his sophomore season, and started nine games as a junior. He missed four games last year due to a textbook scandal, so that could be a minor concern among NFL scouts. Nonetheless, he is otherwise outstanding in the classroom and enters the NFL with few red flags on or off the field. A Second-Team All-SEC selection the past two years, Caldwell could sneak into round two during the 2009 draft.

The New York Giants Select Danell Ellerbee, ILB from Georgia!

Dannell Ellerbe
Height: 6-1 | Weight: 236 | 40-Time: 4.65

Official Bio

Strengths:
Very athletic...Great speed and quickness with a burst to close...Tough and physical...Super aggressive...Good tackler who can deliver the big hit...Able to take on and shed blockers...Smooth in coverage with fluid hips...Good pass rusher and blitzer...Offers some positional versatility.

Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the size or bulk that you look for...Marginal instincts and awareness...Will take poor angles to the ball and doesn't play as fast as he times...Lacks great range...Has some issues in space...Wasn't overly productive...Ran into legal trouble off-the-field...Durability concerns.

Notes:
Redshirted in 2004...Worked as a backup in 2005 and 2006...Took over a starting job in 2007, leading the Bulldogs in tackles while seeing action at all three linebacker positions and earning 2nd Team All-SEC honors...Has a disappointing senior season but was severely hampered by a knee injury...Was suspended for three games in 2006 after being arrested and charged with a DUI, underage possession of alcohol, theft of an automobile and giving false information to police...Could project to the middle or weakside at the next level...Carried a lofty grade heading into the 2008 season and might be getting misevaluated based on his senior film...Talented player with an intriguing set of physical tools who has the ability to be a starter and excel in the right situation.

Pick was made at 10:18 CST.

With the 90th pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Atlanta Falcons select....

Sen'Derrick Marks, DT, Auburn

Weaknesses:
Short and squatty...Frame is essentially maxed out...Needs to hit the weights and get stronger...Can be neutralized by double teams...Is not stout at the point...Doesn't hold up well against the run...Must use his hands better...Durability is a big concern...Was not overly productive.

Notes:
Was a three-year starter in the SEC...While recruiting another player Tommy Tuberville saw this guy dunk a basketball and offered him a scholarship on the spot...Appeared in three games but redshirted in 2005...Started at defensive tackle in 2006 and earned numerous Freshman All-American honors...Moved outside to defensive end in 2007 and played part of the season with a hernia, which later required surgery to repair...Moved back inside to defensive tackle in 2008 and despite being hampered by ankle injuries all year long was named 2nd Team All-SEC...Talented player who came out after a so-so junior campaign and probably would've gone much higher next year...Has the tools to be an impact player but needs to take full advantage of a pro strength program and stay healthy...Prototypical three-technique.
Marks could benefit from a year on the bench to get healthy and improve his conditioning, but he's got great talent and addresses a big need for the Falcons. I had planned to hit DT sooner but the value of the two offensive guys I grabbed in the 1st and 2nd were too much to pass up for a team that is looking to build an identity around a young burgeoning star QB and an elite HB.
