Default Fix the D plan with one big FA splash

I'm bored so lets do another up in the night speculation time wasting thread.

Scenerio 1

CB Bly, Bell
OLB Sintin/Matthews/English round 3 pick
DE Thomas, Peterson
NT Haynesworth 3-5 round pick on backup
DE Antonio Smith FA, Powell or EE whoever plays better in TC
OLB Try Elvis and Moss
CB Bailey, J. Williams, Rossum
ILB Rey M, Larsen
ILB DJ, WW
S Sean Jones, rookie
S Chung in 2nd, Barrett

Scenerio 2

Keep everything the same and the only position changes would be

NT Raji, trade pick to 49ers for Ron Fields and they can battle for starting job

Jack OLB Peppers, Moss/Elvis Elvis more of nickle rush end

ILB Eric Barton or Channing Crowder

S Sharper

Nickle DL Scenerio 1

DE Elvis
DT Haynesworth/Thomas
DT Smith/Peterson/EE
DE Moss or OLB

Scenerio 2

DE Elvis
DT Peterson/Raji
DT Smith/EE/Thomas
DE Peppers

Why is that? I don't even own madden but tell me why my scenerios aren't somewhat realistic? I'm not one of the guys saying sign Peppers, Haynesworth, Dansby, and Atogwe. In fact didn't you start a sign Haynesworth thread?

Haynesworth won't play NT, there is no glory in it.

and i refuse to jump on board with signing Peppers to probably the richest DL contract in NFL history to play a position he never has played before.

I love your choice of Chung. I'm scared of Malalugha, though. Not because he sucks, but because he's from USC and has knee issues and USC players bust a lot.

Haynesworth is a "me" player who will probably pack it in once he gets paid.

Sean Jones? Why him (other than the fact that any safety is better than our current crop)?

I like the scenarios (although I'm not a big ReyRey fan), but it just isn't realistic to count on a big name wanting to come to denver right now. It would be great and would obviously help the D a lot but projecting trades and FA is near impossible and comes off as maddenish.

All we can do now is hope for some good pickups in the offseason

A lot of USC also boom. They just put so goddamn many in the NFL that youre gonna have a lot of failures.

If we switch to a 3-4, I hate to say this but I dont see us picking up any of the BIG names, Haynesworth, Peppers or Suggs. Suggs is going no where and The 1st 2 are not going to switch to a new system.

Peppers expressly said he'd like to play for a 3-4 team next year

Stick with BJ Raji and hopefully we can get a couple of hidden gems in the draft. We've got about 10 picks, cjances are we can get at least 6 good ones if not more...
