Default Best (all) Sports fan Tradtions

So, what are the best fan traditions (any sport included)?

I got a few good ones, so I will start it off:

Football: Tailgating. Easily one of the best traditions in all of sports for the fans, as its by the fans and for the fans. Some of the best (and worst) food you will ever have can be found at tailgates and beer is aplenty and if you are a good enough mooch, free. Ive been to tailgates only in a couple of places but one thing is universal everywhere, its usually pretty fun to hang out with opposing team fans. After the game is another story but before the game its all fun.

College Basketball: Fan interaction. One of the greatest tradition in sports is fan interaction in college, but more specifically college basketball. From chants (ala the Rock Chalk Chant) to the Cameron Crazies to the ubiquitous "Airball, Airball, Airball" chant heard round the nation when the opposing team throws up an airball. Fan interaction with the game in college basketball is unrivaled and why the home team has a bigger advantage in this sport at this level than in any other sport at any level.

College Football: Fight Songs. One of the best things about college football are the bands and how they can really get the 12th man involved. My favorite is Tennessee playing Rocky Top, but all of them are designed to get fans involved and they succeed tremendously.

Baseball: Take Me Out To The Ballgame. I admit, Im not much of a baseball fan until the end of the season. Although it is my favorite sport to go see live, but I will never get tired of the ole "Take Me out of the ball game" song. One of the oldest fan traditions in all of sports, probably the oldest really and timeless in its posterity.

What are some of your favorite fan traditions?

I don't really like the Red Wings, but I've always thought this is pretty sweet...Not to mention the right level of random.

Anyone ever hear the Star Spangled Banner at the Chicago stadium/United Center?

Wayne Mesmer rocked before he got shot in the throat. He is still good but not quite the same range.

I hate the Octopus throwing. What's next, dead puppies?

I think the "Wave" might be the most universal of all sports traditions. Certainly not the oldest, but most wide spread adopted by almost all sports.

Yeah that is cool/random.

I would also include the Hat Trick as a long standing tradition in hockey...

Now that you mention it, I prefer the hat throwing.

The singing of the Steam song, na-na-na hey, hey when the White Sox knock out the starting pitcher is very cool.

The team songs and traditions for just about every club football team in Europe beat out most of what we have here stateside.

However, there are some awesome college traditions. The Duke basketball fans are probably the ultimate example.

It's a tradition for Texas A&M fans to kiss their dates after the Aggies score. I think that's pretty awesome...
