I'll second that Med. SoCal is one the of the main reasons I've been involved in these down the years as well. Please rethink your decision bud cos it certainly wont be the same without you and would everyone please stop sniping about the team selection process and just be happy you've got the opportunity to participate in the best offseason gameplay on these forums.

I never publicly voiced any displeasure over the matter until JCM said he would be changing the system for the next 2 years. That is when I let my feelings be known.

Who cares what team you get? Well I do, and so do ALF, SoCal and others! And we care enough that it's become an issue.

If you don't care what team you get, fine. Those of us who want to stick with our team will have them, and you guys can have whatever random team you want.

Problem solved.

Obviously I need to say it again, but I did not make any public comments about this draft until JCM came out and said we'd have 3 years of changes. This was after I had made the decision to withdraw from the mock for this year.

And if you call voicing my displeasure over something that I've invested the last few years in with the same team, then that is your issue, not mine. I did not ask to change the system that had worked for a long time. And just by looking at this thread, you can see that people are unhappy about it on top of the one's I've spoken to outside the board.

At this point though, it's not really worth arguing over. JCM is willing to go back to the old system next year, and that will be the end of the problem.

I think the best way to do it is since its a big deal to some let them have their teams and guys who don't care take over the rest. I think its cool to take different teams. Its all for fun isn't it.

SoCal must play IMO.

Exactly. There are plenty of people who don't care about which team they get, and with those who don't come back every year there is plenty of space for new people to get involved if they so choose. Hell, if there is enough demand, I'd gladly volunteer to help run a 2nd league for the newer people.

And it is supposed to be fun, but fun is different to other people. Some people, like yourself are content to show up here, make your picks and be on your way. Certainly nothing wrong with that, but then others like me, ALF and SoCal, like to stick with a certain and try to build them up.

Each way is fine for those involved, and no reason that we can't have both.

Well I still do not know who I got teams wise but, I'd gladly give up SF to SoCal because he is a great guy here. I must admit I never thought of building up the same team over the years like some do here. I thought most just liked the idea of drafting each year learn something new every year.

I PMed socal immediately and asked him to get back in here. No one had San Fran as a first choice, so it's a non-issue. We just have to agree on aa set way to do this thing every year, that's all. If we have only three guys that are married to their teams, that's no big problem. I just had no idea that was the case. If I had known that I would have gone that way from the start.

I honestly don't think anyone else cares all that much.

I have drafted for three different teams in the last 4 years, none at the top of the round either. I like to diversify, but being in INDY and most people here HATING INDY helps to get them this year.

Mostly, I like teams that have predictable FO's and draft philosophy's. Not many of those around, but BAL, PHI, INDY, PIT, and NE. I like to draft like they do and try to really get into their needs versus player value on draft day.

However, I saw every game last year and I could make a short list of every teams real needs and have already done so based on my notes. That, plus getting to know another drafts players 3-400 deep is a great pastime for me. Last year was a job switch so I had to come in late, but PHI did not miss a beat.

Honestly man, don't take it personally. We all loved the way you ran the draft last year and we know you meant well. I'm certainly not upset with you, even though I disagreed with the rule change.

As for how we choose, it's pretty easy. Here is how I'd do it.

1. As the time approaches, send out PM's to all those who were part of the previous mock draft asking if they wish to participate again and if they want to keep their team.

2. Those who wish to keep their team do so, the rest go into the pool.

3. Ultimately, some people will not come back for various reasons, so make a post on the main board asking for anyone who wants to join and fill the X number of spots we have open.

4. If those who are incoming have a team preference that is open, let them have it. Those who have no preference go into the pool.

5. Random selection for those who are in the pool.

6. Repeat cycle next year.
