Default What Are The Odds Of Shanny Being Gone Next Year?

Whatever the scenario--fired, quit, heart attack--what do you think are the chances that we might go into next season without Shanny?

Also, how is he being treated by the sports talk shows and media? Are there calls for his head? Or just a tired resignation that Bowlen has hamstrung the team's options?

I've always been a Shanny fan, but the debacles of the last few seasons point out the wisdom that coaches grow stale in one place if they stay too long. He's still a good coach--but perhaps he is not the right coach for the Broncos any longer. Fresh blood can make a huge difference, as evidenced by what Parcells is doing.

Maybe he'll leave and then Denver can pick up Marty when San Diego fires him.

no, only K.C and San Diego would believe he could lead them somewhere. Denver is much smarter than that.

How about some actual discussion, rather than a reflexive "none"? I'm interested in what the tenor there in Denver is about the guy, and if it might boil into enough heat to force Bowlen--or shanny himself, to take action in some way....

Jim Fassel ...He was on OC for us a while back ........ Wade Phillips got the HC Job In Denver cause of what he did with our Defense and we canned Reeves during the season so wade was our HC for like a Year and a Half ....... But then KC hired ****tenhammer

Are you sure he wasn't a head coach? Schots was there for 1 .500 year, 8 winning seasons and 1 loosing one. Thank GOD he's gone. LIFE is SOOOOOO much better now with D.V.

There are still games to play this year. Shanny can still show something, one way or the other (and I do mean one way or the other). From what I've heard and seen so far, Bowlen has stepped away from having anything to do with this team other than getting sauced in his luxury box with his furry friends and face-lifted femmes. Judging by his new found local invisibility, the team is Shanny's to destroy. The Captain's at the helm shouting, "That warn't no iceberg!"

Jim Fassel most certainly is a head coach... for the New York Giants. The highest position he held in Denver was OC... we did, however, suffer through a brief stint with Wade Phillips as HC in the interim between Reeves and Shanahan.

Dude, if you're going to talk smack, at least know what the hell you're talking about... It might help to know a little bit about the rival team that you want to talk smack about...

Anyway back to the original post!

Shanny's odds are pretty good for staying.... Unfortunately, if any fan was his owner they would cut him loose. I don't care what anyone say's about past result's and super bowl rings.

If I did solid work for my company 2 year's ago ,but haven't achieved much in the past 2 year's (errors/lost money) I'd be out on my ass. Same should be said for Mike and he's working on his 5th year of being mediocre!

Well, I'm one fan that wouldn't cut him loose. I'd get rid of Kubiak well before I think of getting rid of Shanahan.

I don't think he's going anywhere. If Bowlen is to do something it'd had to be after a 4-12 season or something like that. I don't think Denver will come close to having a season like that.

Jesus H people, you don't want him leaving right now that's for sure. If Kubiak is still here and Shanny leaves you better believe Kubiak is the next head coach ala Jimmy Johnson/Dave Wanstadt in Miami.

Mark my words. If for any reason Shanahan steps down/gets terminated, Kubiak will run this team.

Well some of US would LOVE that...
That would indeed be a bad thing for you guys. But I thought Gary used to call good plays. Didn't the Rat turn the play calling over to him for a reason?

Not mine, stolen. I forget where I found it but it's not big enough for a wallpaper. I'm pretty sure I got it from maddenmania.com someone there was using it for the sig so I grabbed it. Some board somewhere, can't really remember exactly which board tho.
