Adopt-a-Bronco:
VP John Elway
Default Interview with Jim Goodman on 104.3 The Fan

Liked Hillis since first time he saw him in September of 2007. Has the best hands he’s ever seen. Tough guy and runner. Need to get him well and back on the field.

Was shocked that Shanahan was let go but everybody knows that football has funny bounced. Excited about the talent brought in over last 3 years and the possibilities of this young team under McDaniels.

McDaniels is currently working hard on getting his staff together. Once staff is together, schedule will be put together for the next month. Then McDaniels and the front office will sit down to evaluate who’s on the team and who they need to get. First priority is getting the staff together, then free agency and the draft.

Currently have 7 scouts at the East-West game scouting college players extensively on top of their research from the fall. Placing a high emphasis on heart, work ethic and smarts in the evaluation process.

Woodyard loves the game of football. He was so impressive from the first second he arrived with the team. He’s an accepted leader among the veterans.

McDaniels has a vision, knows exactly what he wants to accomplish on offense, defense and special teams. The team will play hard on him.

Didn’t confirm the team is moving to a 3-4, waiting until the DC is on board. Then they’ll sit down with the personnel team to go over they’re current players.

Said Bowlen and Ellis told Goodman they were happy with what the front office is doing. Not hung up on titles, has a passion for the game. Excited for the opportunity to work with McDaniels.

Those guys were born football players. Can't wait to see them both out there next year.

B/c with heart, work ethic, and "smarts" you end up with the Rod Smiths of the world. Sometimes you run into a guy like Eddie Royal who has the heart, work ethic, smarts, AND Athleticism!

With those three attributes in mind, you can count on both Alex Mack and Clay Mathews being high on the Broncos wish list. A dream draft for me would include us drafting those two in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Clay Mathews makes a lot of sense if we go 3-4. Think Spencer Larsen with more physical ability... does need to cut the hair though!

this is coming together better then i could have ever imagined. everything seems like its falling perfectly into place, a young imaginitive HC, a DC with the ability to adjust to the people on the team, a super high emphasis on finding quality football players. whoooooo dynasty!!

I heard the interview and also the interview of Brain Xanders. They both came accross as really down to earth. You never know how things might turnout but i would be surprised if there were any ego clashes in the FO.

that is what this team needs. hardcore dudes who love football, who live and breath football. we don't need prima donnas, just dudes who will go all out and leave it all on the field every play.

i think our nucleus is set. Guys like Woodyard, Barrett, Larsen, Thomas and maybe Doom on defense, are all guy who can become really great building blocks for the future of this defense. now we just need to add to the core and build up.

and our offense is basically a RB and depth away from being unstoppable.

I hate it when people say Prima Donna.

So much more entertaining when they say Pre-Madonna!!! Plus it takes attention away from all my stupid posts!!!

Speaking of stupid posts, has anybody heard from McLuvin today? Lex? I think I finally put them to shame and made them go away. The good Oskie can now return to the OM.

Anybody hear Slap's take on the current events? Shanny dismissal, McD hiring, Nolan hiring, Capers hiring, etc.? Curious how negative he would be about all of this. Can't be good... could it?

I actually think Slap would be in favor of everything. Slap wasn't a fan of where things were heading.

Later on in the show Alred Williams said something that I thought was pretty interesting. Something along the lines of, "A good defense is not about talent, it's about getting guys who know to attack the football, have a nose for the ball and are willing to sacrifice themselves.

Thats twice now that "smarts" has been emphasized. I guess its really true. I wonder if we could then start putting a list together of players in the draft to scratch off the list. If Maualuga is as undisciplined as you hear, he stands a chance of not being drafted by us. You cant have guys making bad decisions if youre emphasizing intelligent play.

Nope they have been reaching on injured players (except the last three years ) or stupid players that were great physical specimens.

Jesus H. Mothe$@%#king Christ on a Crutch!! Can one of you Football Geniuses please explain just precisely how this "new" front office policy of "Placing a high emphasis on heart, work ethic and smarts in the evaluation process" is in any way a new thing?

They're just words. And they're the same words uttered by every GM in the league. Cripes, even King Carl would claim that was his strategery..

Woohooo!!! Wer'e over the top now baby!! Dynasty!
