Default Your top 3

I'll go on the record and say Bowlen hires a DC as his next HC. These are the top 3 guys I think. I'm pretty sure one of these guys will be the next HC in Denver. The reason I think so is because DC's really know what kind of players to get (via draft or FA) and who ever the GM is, these guys can really help evaluate the defensive talent. At this stage, we have so many good offensive young players and hardly any defensive players that I think we really do need a defensive minded HC and I will be shocked if one of these guys is not the next HC.

Rex Ryan (Ravens)
Clancy Pendergast (Cardinals)
Steve Spagnuolo (Giants)

I did some reading on Morris and Im convinced I dont want the guy. Too young, too inexperienced and too easy for him to **** up real bad.

I dont mind going young but this guy is a little too young.

It looks like more of us prefer the DC over an OC.

I'd be curious, I wonder how many of the past 20 Superbowls were won by a HC that used to be a DC and how many by an OC.

I'm going to guess DC's get the nod.

It's too obvious and too safe to work with a move like Bowlen just made.

Here is what I posted on another thread:

On a serious note, can anyone tell me why the board has essentially eliminated names like Cowher and Parcells? I've been scouring the intarwebz and have found nothing that eliminates them as candidates. Just curious.

Also, why is everyone dismissing Stoops? I hate the ****er (probably because he is so good and also arrogant as hell- which translates well to the league). Is it because of all the recent failed college coaches in the NFL? He just seems like he's cut from a different cloth than them. He also seems to run a very tight ship with a fantastic eye for defensive talent. His defenses are always top notch and well coached.

Actually it does. "Spags" has already made his masterpiece. BUT, he made it with a quality DL, something Denver does not have and likely will not acquire in one or two offseasons. (Remember that draft picks are 50/50 and DL are the #1 commodity in drafts and FA).

It is NOT A GIVEN that he could come in here and take this bunch of left over parts and create a great D by trying to force his system on players that cannot run it.

Bowlen took a huge chance at firing Mike Shanahan. He should follow-up that decision by hiring the best available candidate, not the most obvious one.

That's a more complete version of my "reasoning".

Because both want to either be a GM or have control and Bowlen has not suggested that even part of this process.

AND because they are both unavailable. Cowher has told anyone that "listens" that he won't coach until at least 2010 (when his youngest daughter graduates HS). Parcells has a contract with Miami until further notice.

Parcells has an out in his contract with the recent pending ownership change with the Miami Dolphins.
