we have the best winning percentage of any team since the 70s, shanahan constantly fields a team that is competitive at the least, deadly at best. some of you need to back off, calm down a bit and just watch and enjoy, a LOT of teams dont get the advantages of looking forward to a winning season nearly every single year. the team is so young now, the defense cant really get worse, and if they DO get better, watch out. as someones signature points out, if the defense allows less then 23 points, we generally win the game. 23 points is almost 3 touchdowns and a field goal, it doesnt take much to allow less then that. if the defense was ranked better then 22nd in ppg this year, wed have a great record, and assuming we do draft a stud safety or LB or two in the coming draft with some FA, the talent of this team is limitless. why is everyone so ****ing up in arms about where the team is headed?
its baffling to me, how is what we have been given never enough? we cant make the super bowl every year, and you cant be a fan only when the team is winning, because trust me, if anyone wants this team to win its every player and coach and owner on the broncos team. they want it more then you, belie dat. It's just frustrating when you go to the playoffs every year for 2-3 decades and then miss 3 in a row.

think of the teams who have been to 1 or less playoffs in the last 20+ years. there are multiple in the NFL. every team is gonna go through downtime, and considering this team just went 8-8 with damn near the worst defense in the NFL, thats pretty amazing. the future actually is very bright for this team, as much as others dont want to admit.

I have my views on Shanahan and I've been a fan forever. Yes I do complain about things etc. I also understand and never suggested or expected SB every year. Yes teams go into a slump and rebuild stages. What I don't get is the spoiled part Lion fans might think so but, how can we be spoiled hovering around 6-10 wins and folding every Dec and missing or getting hammered in the playoffs most of 10+years. To me spoiled is like NE and Colt fans who have won alot and turn in a 7 or 8 win season one year and they gripe.

This thread is like running bare foot on the grass only to step full on in a steamy pile of dog shiit and you say well it could be worse the dog could have shiit on a board with a nail sticking up.
Dude it's still dog shiit. |

I didn't check the date on this post but it could be from this same time of year...last year! SAME EXACT things I said last year. Shanny wanted to be accountable and said that this was the year, now he's not being accountable by keeping his FRIEND, Bob Slowick as the DC. |

Meanwhile their team slid further and further into the mediocrity they now have. The constant there was the Owner, msr A Davis. Many of them STILL beleive that he somehow will return them to glory. Meaanwhile , here, we hang on to the Myth of the Mastermind, the offensive genius that ALWAYS fileds a competitive team. Since the early 70s the Broncos were known for two things . Great Linebackers and secondaries and a defense that could keep them in games when the offense was playing poorly. That legacy is now gone! In Truth MS has only fielded a competitive Offense. His direction of the defense and special teams has taken us to the point that we now have one of the worst defenses and special teams in the league and are matching the teams of the early 60s in points given up. Shanahan is an offensive genius. But his legacy, if he refuses to turn the defense and other aspects of the game over to people who can actually perform at the NFL level, will be that of a coach who won two superbowls with a fantastic offense, but was unable to understand his own weaknesses and eventually let his ego destroy a great franchise. |
