Default Broncos 1, Chargers 1. Both end at .500

We split the series this year. We beat them once and they beat us once, which was expected, since nobody thought we'd beat the Chargers on their home turf.

We both end up 8-8. Chargers get into the playoffs due to a technicality.

If Broncos are going to be upset about not making the playoffs, let's point to the Bills game, or the absolute idiocy of the Chiefs and the fumbled onside kick. Not splitting the series.

Catch you next year Filipe Rivaire, along with your 30 year old RB, Broncos will likely split the series again. What happens inbetween those two games will decide the AFC West, just like it did this year.

I think you should point to the 1st game against the Chargers. The Broncos should've never won that game. They should've been eliminated from the playoffs last week.

The Chargers have slaughtered us in every game we've played the last 3 years, except for one which would have been a close win for them if the refs hadn't taken it away.

But yeah, keep pretending like we're neck and neck with them.

Why, because of a bad call?

And what about the PI call in the Jags game?
And the offensive PI call in the Miami game?

Every team deals with bad calls. Some overcome them, others don't. Denver and SD are both average teams this year and neither overcame them. But going by your logic maybe Denver should be 9-7 and in the playoffs.

we almost are. All we need is a defense, then we will be neck and neck with them.

Football fans are funny creatures. Ed Hocculi will probably retire this year after clearly affecting the outcome of a game. I highly doubt the two officials involved in those other non calls were even talked too about it.

Or....you could blame it on getting waxed by Oakland and KC or you could be thankful you had a shot at all with the blown Hochuli call.

C'mon man, dont blame the Chiefs missing an onside kick for you not getting in. That is weak. Take care of your own business. You had a 3 game lead and only had to win 1 game. Dont rely on others to help you get in when all you have to do is win ONE yourself.

Man, those are some amazing 'Homer Vision' glasses you're wearing!

It may be one win for each club, but it took Ed Hochuli for the Broncos to win by ONE, and we just got our butts handed to us by a 32 point margin.

It's tough to create a credible "positive spin" on this, IMO.

No one talked about Hocculi until this week either. Yeah, I'm sure he'll retire because he did something that happens in every single NFL game

Point still remains. Good teams overcome bad calls. Chargers didn't in that game, Broncos haven't in other games. Silly to point at one and ignore others.

Not a technicality, but a tiebreaker.

But your point is correct, we finished TIED for first place.

3rd grade manipulation. Seriously. They spent an entire week talking about the Hochuli call all over sports. Denver should've lost the ball. Game over. Period. No one EVER talked about those PI calls. Ever. The difference is night and day, and while mistakes are made, this was a case where the game was won by the Broncos that they had no business winning. There was around a minute left. There was nothing to speculate. The game was OVER.

Charger fans still whining about that?

Tell me, what great play did Ed Hercules nullify? What great move did Merriman make on Clady, what awesome INT did Cromartie grab? Wait... what's that, Chargers didn't do anything? Oh that's right, the ball luckily slipped from Cutler's hands. And just as lucky, the whistle blew early. The rest of the game was based on skill.

Enjoy your tie for 1st place in AFC West. And enjoy your next game.

In a way, this thread makes sense. The losses to the chefs and faid really hurt. games we should have won.

Same team we beat in Week 2, same team we're tied with for 1st, they're nothing special, and they'll prove that next week.

The other calls weren't discussed because none of them were the same type of calls from that week 2 game and none happened with a minute left in the game. Furthermore, neither of those 2 other games were 70+ point shootouts between division foes, decided by a 2 point conversion.

Again, horrible call is a horrible call. You want to put an emphasis on one over the other but that is a stupid and shortsighted way of looking at things.

I'm not being a homer, or looking at the world with orange colored glasses, when I objectively and rationally point out the fact that CHARGERS SUCK

All of their fans are either bad-call whiners, or bandwagoners who didn't have a prayer until this week.

Congratulations on tying for 1st in the NFL's rock-bottom worst division. May Manning have mercy on your souls.

h....it's understandable why people don't like the Chargers, but please, they put up 90 points against the Broncos in 2 games. 90 freaking points!
