Default Gutless.

At this point, i'm totally open to gutting this defense wide open. I don't care. There isn't one position on this defense where I don't think we could get better.

Start with the coach. Jim Haslett should be gone from St. Louis, bring him in. I know that guy doesn't take any ****.

Next up, let Nate Webster walk the hell out. God that guy sucks. Groom Wesley Woodyard to be our Mike Singletary and our emotional leader.

Let DJ sit at WILL but let him know we'll never expect him to grow into a leadership position despite this being his what, his 4th or 5th year in Denver? Will let him just suit up and run around players unobstructed like he wants to do all the time.

Fire Dre Bly.

I don't want to hear any excuses about recession, money or anything like that from Bowlen or the front office. This organization needs to pick up a few marque defensive players in FA. Bowlen's reasoning for a new stadium and taxing Denver residents is so that it would put us in a position to be financially competitive in the near future. It's time to see it spending some of that 31 mill we have under the cap next season on some good players..

I'm pissed. II can't stand how gutless this defense has played. 9th game this year where we allowed over 30 pts. UN-****ing believable. Merry f'n new year.

Screw you.

Shanahan is developing the offense.

I don't agree with his DC choice, i also don't know what other kind of external factors played into Slowik being named DC this year.

If he's here next year.... the clock is on.

This much is obvious, we need a different DC, more talent and to go from there.

Wait.

WTF?

DJ blew tonight.

We don't know Wesley CAN add weight. In fact, comments from his college coaches state the contrary.

We have ONE solid LB... NOT dj, Wesley. And you want to try and transplant him?!

**** that. Make DJ play Sam again. Put Wesley at Will and draft SPIKES! Then Chung and blow your FA wad on Atogwe.

I have an honest question for you wolf. I understand that you don't want Shanahan here and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but why do you have to say that in every single thread? I mean we get it you don't have to repeat yourself every single thread.

After that, we just need to figure out a way to get a couple of NFL caliber DE's and we should be set...

I don't disagree, then again you have to look at the bigger picture. I saw that Woodyard has natural leadership ability. Why not groom him to be the MLB? I'm willing to bet he's versatile like that. DJ isn't versatile at all. He'd b**** at MLB, he'd be invisible at SAM just like he was the last time he played there.

I'm not against Spikes but probably not at 12. I think it has to be a guy that can close passing windows like Taylor Mays in the defensive secondary or a guy that can provide balance on offense like Beanie Wells.

We have 31 million in cap money. Suggs, Haynesworth, Peppers, Atogwhe, Nambi. Go get a few of them.

I really think we need a change at higher level in the organization Chris. What we have right now starting from scouting, free agency, OTAs, training camp, coaches everything is set up by Shanahan and it has gone stale. If he leaves this year takes up the soon to be available Dal job, he will most likely win a sb in the next 2/3 years. but its not working here.

In the last 10 years more or less we are the same team. Good finnesse offense, bad to mediocre defense and STs. What else is he going to do diffreent? We have tried everything to fix defense and STs - he changed coaches, drafted players, signed players in FA but nothing is working.

Fortunately we have some good core to work with so new coach does not have to start from the scratch.

Even coaches like Norv and Tom Cable are running circles around him and its honestly embarassing.

WWIII is not a MLB man. He just isnt. Weve had this argument before. Hes a WLB and thats what he is. MOVE DJ to SAM or bite the bullet, take the hit and trade him for a player/pick.

If it comes to that. ****ing cut DJ. Eat the cap space. Who ****ing cares?

What IF Wesley can't put the weight on? Then he can be a Dansby type for Den... leading from the outside and making GENUINE plays within 9 yards of the LOS.

You're right... DJ would be invisible at SAM. Winborn HAS outplayed DJ's best at that spot.

GET A ****ING MIKE AND IT WON'T BE AN ISSUE.

Especially when so many viable S options are available through FA. Otogwe, Phillips, Landry...

Unfortunately, we may be stuck with status quo for next year.

Shanahan said in the post game interview on 850KOA that he enjoys this team (I am not kidding he really said that). How have the mighty fallen, after getting the third straight b**** slap in SD, he says very calmly that he he likes the team.

Reading between the lines, he is coming back next year. Also with most teams affected by the economy, i doubt if we will let go Slowik. I think money was one of the reasons why we promoted him from in house instead of going outside. At this point he pushed himself into a catch22 situation by changing so many DCs. Damned if you change damned if you don't ......
