Default Okay Cutler

This is it. The biggest game of your career tomorrow. On the road. With plenty of emotion invested against the team and their quarterback. Against a more talented football team. Against an offense more than capable of scoring against your defense every time it touches the ball.

Until you win this game, and games like this, and go into the post season and rack up a few wins, people will continue to wonder where in the world Jake Plummer is playing handball, regardless of whatever franchise records you can throw for in only your third season.

Until this game is behind you with a victory, and a deep jaunt into the playoffs, people will continue to doubt your coach that helped mold you into the third year pro-bowler, regardless of whatever franchise records of ineptitude your defense is cracking this year.

We need a mixture of Cutler from the first Oak, SD and Cleveland games.

The running game most likely won't be there so he has to be clutch on every play and limit his mistakes. Don't force the ball to anyone.

Cutler still has a lot to prove, but I'll be basically in awe of the guy if he can win tomorrow.

With no running game whatsoever, he's going to have to put up upwards of 30 points to compete in this game.

And he'll have bad field position all day, and get no extra chances whatsoever off turnovers.

He basically needs to be perfect.

With as little heart as Denver has showed this season, they probably already have their vacations booked for Monday.

Unless we pull a running game out of our asses again, we don't have a hope I'm afraid.

It would be great if Cutler helps Denver to a win tomorrow. Without a running game to keep the SD defense honest....it will be a tall order for Cutler and the Broncos to pull this one out.

However, win or loose what I want to see from Cutler is (1) emotional maturity, (2) smart play, and (3) sound field generalship.

(1) This means no more sulking and pouting on the sidelines....instead Cutler needs to rally his offensive linemen to execute and give him the time he needs.

(2) No more throwing into in double and triple coverage! Take what the Defense is giving you and check down to your 2nd and 3rd WR's.

(3) Cutler must be the leader! Inspire your WR's to run crisp routes and get into the "grills" of those WR's who run the wrong routes and drop passes. Be the "Field General" and build for next year Jay!!! Inspire your team to run thru brick walls for a victory! You lead, and your teammates will follow.

Scheffler, Marshall, Royal, Graham, and Stokely must realize w/o a viable running attack, they themselves and their performances are keys to the Broncos upsetting the Chargers. They must catch every ball conceivably possible, run the crisp-precise routes----and NO TURN-OVERS!!!

For the first two qtrs, the Denver defense will be playing with allot of emotions and gritty termination. But nothing drains a Defense more than when an offense can't convert 3rd and short or 3rd and long!!!!

Nothing drains the emotions and saps the energy of a Defense when they can't get off the field! Which means Slowick can't continue to allow his CB's to play 10 and 12 yards of opposing WR's!!!

The Defense will need to see the OL perform with the least amount of false start and holding penalties. Nor does the Defense after after holding SD to 3 and out, need to see Cutler throw interceptions or a WR or RB fumble the ball.

Yep its going to take a total team effort on both sides of the ball in order for Cutler and the Broncos to pull off the upset.....BUT IT CAN BE DONE!!!

We Bronco Fans, just can't point the finger and single out one player win or loose. Its going to take a total team effort.

Mentally, the entire Bronco team needs to act as if the Chargers are 14-1!!!! in order to play the game of their young careers!!!

Yep the true quitters who should have been identified, exposed, and cut!! These players were allowed to manipulate and fake their way onto the 2008 Broncos roster.

Now these same players can't wait until the end of the season to go out and spend some of Bowlen money......and start all over again next summer.

Hell coaches don't seem to mind after all they had a chance to find out who the quitters were during the training camp and 4 preseason games.......so why should the players who quit mind

First thing, I wouldn't say that the Chargers are that much more talented than the Broncos, if more talented at all. The Chargers being the most talented team in the league has always been BS to me.

Second, anybody who thinks Plummer would take this team, or the '06 team, to the playoffs didn't really follow the situation at all.

How about calling out the defense. If they could actually stop somebody then maybe Cutler wouldn't have to turn in a HOF performance to win a game.

When the offense goes into stall/Turnover mode it doesnt help the defense at all... it goes both ways.

We will need good efforts by both teams, and of course Special Teams needs to show up.

It's the defense that needs to step up. Cutler is FINE. Our offense is FINE.

Our pathetic second to last (thanks Lions!) interception #s is the key reason we are -15 on the year. It's pathetic. Guess who has as many fumbles as Denver? The Titans. Guess who is +14 as opposed to our -15? The Titans.

You can't win if you can't EVER even up the turnovers. All teams turn the ball over. Stop pinning our defenses (thanks Slowik!) inability to ever get the ball, with our offenses very AVERAGE # of turnovers.

Our offense shouldn't have to play like juggernauts to win games. It would be kind of nice if our defense helped out a little.

Well, our offense only managed 279 yards and 10 points against Carolina, and then only put up 23 last week despite 532 yards. Yes, our defense is awful but our offense didn't do enough either.

In theory I agree with that, but even if the offense is playing great the defense still sucks. And the offense isn't always going to play great. At some point the defense is going to have to step up and win a game.

This thread is retarded.

We'll be wondering where Jake is? No. Not really.

I know what Jay can do. I know what Jake can do. There isn't any similarity between them. The circumstances are totally different.

I'll be disappointed if we don't win but for those that know what they are looking at, there is light at the end of the tunnel either way. If we win, its just hastening the process.

Shanahan isn't a fool. He knows what the issues with this team are. We are going to find an answer to our running game and we're going after some players or coaches that can impact the defense.

Win or lose this game, Jay is going over the .500 mark next year for his career record. He also will have a great chance of winning the AFC West for a 1st or 2nd time depending on Sunday night.

This weekend will provide one of two things. It will either provide a division championship and playoff experience or it will drop us to 11th or 12th in the draft where we will be in prime position to select an impact player on defense (DL, LB or DB) or a blue chip HB like Beanie Wells.

Either way I think this team is moving forward. I'm not really worried about a thing. The worst thing that can happen is that we'll have to hear SD run their mouth for another week or an offseason. It sucks but they aren't walking away with any trophies this year.
