COLTS PUNCH THEIR TICKET
Posted by Mike Florio on December 18, 2008, 11:09 p.m. The Indianapolis Colts, after coming from 10 points behind in the fourth quarter, held off a late effort by the Jaguars to force overtime, winning the Thursday nighter and clinching a playoff berth. With the 31-24 win, the Colts will be the fifth seed in the AFC playoffs. The Jags moved the ball inside the Indy 10 with 29 seconds to play. But an injury to running back Maurice Jones-Drew with no Jacksonville time outs resulted in a ten-second runoff. Quarterback David Garrard overthrew an open Reggie Williams on first down. On second down, Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney sacked Garrard, and time expired before the Jags could snap the ball again. The Colts will hit the road on wild-card weekend, traveling either to Denver or San Diego. If the Colts win, they’ll head to either Pittsburgh or Tennessee for the divisional round. With the first of two wild-card spots claimed, the stage is now set for two 10-6 teams to be left out of the AFC playoff field. The Jets, Dolphins, Patriots, and Ravens are 9-5. If the Patriots, Ravens, and either the Jets or Dolphins run the table, the Pats will stay home with an 11-5 record. |

I think the Colts will take it all the way. Everyone is ignoring them, if not dogging them outright, and they just keep winning games.

Since the Colts will be the fifth seed, they wil play at number four seed.

834 Yards 9 touchdowns courtesy of Peyton in 2 playoff games vs the Broncos. Gotta exorcise that demon at some point...we got Jay this time around. |

1. They go 2-0 2. Jets lose to Seattle, then beat Miami. 3. New England loses at least 1 game. That would give Denver the #3, and NYJ the #4......right? We DO hold the tiebreaker over the Jets. Last edited by 55CrushEm; 12-19-2008 at 01:54 PM.. |

The New York Jets must now beat AFC East co-leading Miami at home next week, and pray. Either New England or Baltimore, also 10-5, must lose for the Jets to get in the playoffs. The Patriots are at Buffalo next week and the Ravens, aiming for the conference's last wild-card spot, host Jacksonville (5-10).

This thread should be moved. Has absolutely nothing to do with Broncos football.
