Who Should be in the Hall of Fame?
This thread is meant as jumping off to discuss all sorts of Hall of Fame related topics, such as what qualifies someone to be in it vs what disqualifies someone, who do you consider HoF worthy (Broncos or otherwise), who do you think has been overlooked (and why, etc) and other random topics.
The reason I was thinking of it was I reading the overpaid NFL athlete article and I saw a thing about Mr. Orenthal James Simpson. Regardless of feelings on the original murder trial (he was acquitted rightfully or not), he was recently convicted of felony, which raised the question should he be removed from the NFL HoF as well as the other ones he is in.
Here's the article: http://msn.foxsports.com/cfb/story/8...Famer-for-now#
My feeling is a bit ambivalent. I think the man is not a good human being, but he did excel in the areas where he received the awards. If he was up for consideration now I suspect he would not be in the HoF because of these off field things. However, he is in there now, so how does the NFL deal with that? Do they pull him out? Do they create a isolation wing for the criminals of the NFL? I don't think the NFL can or should rewrite it's history, however, I also don't think OJ should be shown as any kind of role model just because of his athletic prowess (that's a whole other discussion though).
What do you all think on any of these topics or others related to the HoF?
