I just saw his interview on NFL network.
First Mcnabb says he never had been part of a tie, that he didn't even know it was in the rules. Then he says I really wanted a chance to win the game, but you know it's in the rules so we have to accept that? it was like he felt it was unfair. It's not NFL's fault you don't know the rules. It's hard for me to believe a pro QB had no idea when he had the ball at end of OT that it was his last chance to win the game. Study your sport for god sake and have some pride at knowing it well. |

I was surprised that he didn't know that there was no 2nd OT, and I was surprised that he would admit that. He should have kept that one to himself.

McNabb is an idiot, no way to sugar coat it.
Not only did he not know that a game can end in a tie, he also said something to the effect of "well, what are they gonna do when it happens in the Super Bowl?". He doesn't know that they will keep playing OT until someone does win. |

dumbest interview i've seen in years! I thought that you received somewhat of an education at syracuse. Guess not, seriously you don't think that if a playoff game was in overtime that they would keep the game going, and the superbowl
come on Donovan pull your head out! |

They should have called the game on a mercy rule by the 3rd quarter, the mercy of course being for the fans so they didn't have to decompose before anyone on the field figured out how to play football. If you can't settle a game with 4 quarters of play and a full 15 minutes of sudden death over time the game should be called because it is so mindnumbingly boring that everybody will be better off just forgetting about it. The only change I would like to see is that both teams should be awarded a loss for a tie, the fans shouldn't be the only losers in those games. |

I actually have friend that went to that horror show of a game. The point is, there should be a winner and loser. |

I bet he doesn't know players can play both Offense and Defense (and ST's) all in the same game.

I have always been a big Mcnabb fan , but DUH .... there has always been ties ...
and always will be ... I don't mind it .... if you can't win in a hour and 15 mins neither of the teams deserve it ... Last edited by TDmvp; 11-17-2008 at 11:41 AM.. |

Thankfully we are past any negative racial stereotyping in the NFL these days or that one little interview might have given a huge boost to the "too dumb to play QB" theorists. What with McNabb, Tarvaris Jackson, Michael Vick and Vince Young smashing that barrier. Phew no need to worry!
(This post is merely to point out this issue and in no way reflects my feelings on this non-issue.) |

And people gave Rush Limbaugh a rough time when he basically called McNabb a moron.
On a side note. I think the overtime setup is one of the only flaws in the pro game. 2 teams match eachother all game long, and then it all comes down to a coin flip. the NFL needs to adopt college football type of play in overtime. 1 possession each minimum and go until someone wins. |

I saw a sign that read "Dear Santa, please move the Eagles to the NFC West. Thanks, Andy Reid." That may not have been the exact words, but the point is exactly what you're making. The Eagles would likely be contending for a division title in another division...

The division is pretty good. But, saying the Eagles are a good football team? Average at best IMO. A good football team plays with heart when their season is on the line. They win the games they are supposed to win. The Bungles ?!? With their 2nd string QB in no less? You are what your record says you are |
