15 DENVER BRONCOS: WILLIAM MOORE, S, MISSOURI

The Broncos really have some major issues at safety and you could easily make the case that Marlon McCree and Marquand Manuel are the worst starting duo in the league. William Moore could be a hot commodity on Draft Day because a lot of teams need help at safety but if the Broncos do somehow get a shot at him it would appear to be a match made in heaven. A terrific all-around player, Moore has the speed (4.50) and ball skills to be a factor in coverage, which was evidenced by his 8 interceptions as a junior, but he also loves to come up to support the run and deliver the big hit. Not only is Moore a legitimate first round pick but he could even challenge for a spot in the Top 10 overall. If Dewayne Robertson continues to battle injuries Denver might still need some more help at defensive tackle and outside of D.J. Williams their once proud linebacking corps is now a bit underwhelming so that could be a consideration as well. Considering their struggles at running back this year don't completely rule out a top running back either. However, if Denver does get a shot at either William Moore or Taylor Mays they will almost have to pull the trigger.

I would be happy with William Moore in the first round.

It will be a while before I rank Moore or Mays #1 on my draft board at safety.

I don't like to do that until the season and bowl games are over.

They are both first round talents.

I'd rather have Rashad Johnson.

Bottom line, we need to improve right up the middle on this defense.

Getting a capable player at safety should be one of the first things on our list.

I love William Moore. Dude is 6'2", 230, has great hands and 4.4 speed. He'll hit you in the teeth and plays with a Greg Lloyd like disposition.

Taylor Mays isn't as polished but he would be a good one as well. Brandon Spikes is one of my favorite players in this draft so I would be okay with that as well.

I love William Moore. This draft is looking like it will be pretty deep if some juniors declare.

BTW, I don't think its out of the question that Denver could take two safeties in this draft if the position is that deep. Moore at SS and Johnson at FS.

I have it! The Broncos will take both Moore and Chung.
And the motto on defense will be:
MOORE CHUNG!

Moore is way more polished than Mays. He has a better college career, and one game shouldnt define the guy. He reminds me of a young Rodney Harrison. Hes just plain good. If he came to DEN, i couldnt complain just based on the grand canyon sized hole at Safety.

this woud just piss me off to no end if it happened.

11 SAN DIEGO CHARGERS: REY MAUALUGA, ILB, USC

I learned a long time ago to just let go when another team is drafting. It doesn't always mean they are going to do great. Just look at Derrick Johnson. I loved that guy at Texas. Now, 4/5 years later, the chiefs have turned him into a bust.

I would hate Rey with the Chargers but I do think that there is a certain bust factor to him. Besides his impressive skill set, there is something mentally lacking there. He's very undisciplined inside a defense.

They haven't changed Denver's pick or reasoning for weeks, they just change the place of the pick. Lot of effort they put into this one for Denver.

Yeah. I would be more sick of hearing the fairweather sparkler fans, never ending ranting and raving to lunatic levels if he went to SD. All the USC/sparkler fans would just never let this go, and the comparisons to Seau would just never go away on the radio, papers, in discussion.
I would just be stricken with "fairweather disease".

I would be jumping for joy.

The dude is a linebacker with a safety number. I think he will have a career much like John Lynch. He will cover well (especially in his younger years), is an excellent blitzer, and can absolutely lay the hammer in run support.

I will actually be surrprised if he is still on the board when we pick.

Oooo, but Knowshon Moreno is right behind him! Think Shanny could resist another toy? Also, didn't someone say that if we win the division the lowest we can pick is 21?

i am not a big Maualuga supporter. physically the dude is a freak, but mentally i don't think he has it. he is probably the most hit or miss MLB with a 1st round projection.
Laurinitus is going to be a decent pro, the kind of guy who does his job but doesn't get a lot of notice for it.
Spikes i feel will be the best of all of them. he will be a beast and hopefully our beast.
I want our draft to be Spikes in the 1st and Chung in the 2nd and find a way to get another 2nd so we can also take Shonn Greene.

I am on board with this plan.
Those 3 players and the rest is just gravy!
I do however think REY will fall to DEN, and they will take him.
I think spikes, laurinitus, go 1st, and rey goes 3rd.
i think Cushing goes 1st of the OLBs, and Curry a close 2nd.

Rey Rey just seems to make alot of mistakes Spikes just seems the the more consistant player. Both are playmakers but I will take the guy who makes the ugly play and the spectacular play as well. I wonder which RBs will go in the first. Right now I would bet that its just Moreno and Wells with a run on backs in the second and third rounds.

I would prefer Curry over any of the two. Rey reminds me a little of Josh Barrett, one hell of an athlete and build like a tank, but just lacks a bit in the brain department. Spikes is a big mofo, but I worry he is best suited to being a SLB in the pros.

Curry can play SLB or MLB whatever we need and he seems like a player with a better grasp of the game than any of the 2.

Cushing (sp) would also be a decent (late 1st round) pick up... he reminds me of Romo in certain ways...

He has put the injury bug away it seems, but i understand the hesitation when talking 1st round.
He is a 3-4 LB at the pro level, so i dont see DEN going after him, although DEN has flirted with it recently.
As a SAM, he would be better than any LB DEN has, but with Bailey having the deal DEN signed him for, and Woodyard playing so well, i wouldnt think DEN would go after him. but there is talk of Cushing being able to play MLB as well out there. i dont see it though, so relax.

Cushing is a guy I used to like, but not anymore. He is too fragile and his cover skills are below average. He lives on his size and run stopping but is not ready to play a 4-3 pro system.

While theres a lot of talent on USC, I think there are usually 2 or 3 guys that others feed off of and are made to look better than they are because of it. I think its kind of been that way with Laurinaitis. Additionally, Ive heard that Cushing likes to use needles.
