Default --lets make GAME BY GAME predictions for the rest of the season...

for the remainder of the season for BOTH squads.

SD:
KC-W
@ PIT-L
INDY-W****--I am leaning toward SD B/C they always seem to play well against INDY
ATL-W
OAK-W
@KC-W
@TB-L
DEN-W

=9-7

DEN:
MIA-W
@CLE-L
@ ATL-L
OAK-W
@NYJ-W
KC-W
@ CAR-L
BUF-W
@ SD-L

=9-7

SD wins the division via tie breaker edge over Den with a better division record--1 loss VS 2 for the Broncos. (I HOPE TO HECK THAT I AM WRONG)

I thought that we would win this game heading into the season--but they have really seemed to improve BOTH offensively and defensively so far this season..I think that they will essentially out score us.

I think a heavy portion of the fanbase are expecting us to lose 2 of the next 3.

doesn't the prospect of facing Michael Turner ON TURF, scare you at all? I fear that out time of possession will hover around 20-22 minutes and that this will be a nightmare game for us--ALA Detroit last year.

Our next 6 games make or break our season, each one is winable, but the only ones that should be for sure are both Oakland and KC at home. The other 4 are just as winable as they could be a loss. Our last 3, Carolina, Buffalo, and San Diego, may come down to who is healthiest. We need to winn at least 5 of these next 6, to be sure we get into the playoffs.

Are you watching a different Cleveland team? They are currently ranked 27th in the league in total offense. They're only putting up 16 pts per game, basically half of what they were putting up most of last year.

Cleveland SHOULD be a win. They were expected to do better in pre-season hype, but they are who we thought they are. In fact, I think we can win the next three. After that, it gets a bit hairy. I don't see many wins after Atlanta. Kansas City is improving, Favre and the Jets will pick us apart, and Carolina is going to be a tough task. I hope we sweep San Diego, but we'll see...

SD: 11-5
KC - W - Easy win for SD against KC, this gets the Charger confidence going.
@ PIT - W - SD reestablishes itself as a contender by lighting up Steelers in a suprising blowout.
INDY - W - SD owned Indy when they were good, they win in convincing fashion.
ATL - W - Toughest game for SD rest of the way as Turner plays well against his former team but SD takes control late.
OAK - W - SD doesn't take them lightly this time and punishes Oakland early and often.
@KC - W - A trap game that's closer than it should be, KC hangs around but Rivers pulls away at the end.
@TB - L - Tampa can't keep up with SD's offense as the Chargers hit full swing.
DEN - W - They'll be motivated to embarrass Denver and secure playoff positioning.

DEN: 5-11
MIA - L - Checkdown Chad picks apart a Champ-less defense while the Wildcat offense dominates.
@CLE - L - Broncos lose in a shootout during a crazy Cleveland night game as Anderson has a career game.
@ ATL - L - Ryan and Turner torch the defense, Cutler keeps Denver in it but Elam ultimately kicks the game winner.
OAK - L - Broncos take the Raiders lightly and get off to a bad start they can't recover from.
@NYJ - L - Favre lights up the New York skyline while the offense struggles against Kris Jenkins and company.
KC - W - Cutler leads a gallant comeback, ending the losing streak with a split of KC.
@ CAR - L - Williams, Stewart, Muhammad and Smith go wild at home where Carolina is undefeated.
BUF - L - Buffalo will be in a tight race with the Patriots, Edwards and Lynch will have a field day.
@ SD - L - With the season packed in, Denver could be shut out for the first time in over a decade.

I hated writing that.

There was a little bit of reverse-psychology going on. Maybe I should bet my house on it and that way it won't happen. I'd be homeless but at least we'd win the division!

Seriously, I do think the Broncos have imploded and are headed for a serious down swing. The offense's confidence is completely shot while players on the defense have openly commented they don't have an identity. Combine that with the loss of Champ and Boss and I see a downward spiral. Meanwhile, I think San Diego's poised for a run after watching them nearly comeback to win that game yesterday. Rivers is playing as the best QB in football right now and he's getting his toys back. There are few, if any, teams in the league with an offense like New Orleans that can keep up with them. I think they'll sense blood in the water with Denver struggling and revert back to past slow starts.

Yeah, these next three games have me really nervous...at the beginning of the season I thought we would win them all, but now, I'm scared we are about to go 0-3 against those teams.

Yea, why do you have SD loosing to IND and ATL. I can honestly see Turner running all over SD D. You say that they always play IND strong, I thought Denver always plays NE strong......not the case this year

They put up 23 against JAX and 35 against the NYG. They will easily put up high 20's low 30's on our defense.......they are getting better.

Jax is averaging giving up 22 pts per game, so one point more than that doesn't blow my skirt up. And the Giants game is literally the only game all season long where the Browns scored more than one point over the opposing team's average for the year. That reeks of cherry-picking. There are two other games in the last month where they didn't even score near as many points as the other team is averaging giving up.

Now let me be clear.....I'm not saying the Broncos are in any position to stop anyone right now, but I do take issue with someone saying that the Browns offense is clearly improving.

Are you kidding me? Reeks of cherry picking?I said that they were IMPROVING--22 pts/game over the last 3 games is what CLE is averaging--hence IMRPOVEMENT. You said that they are averaging 16/game on the season..is 22 not an improvement over 16? In regards to our offense, over our last three we are avergaing 13 pts/game. What both teams have done in the last month is much more telling than full season stats......hopefully it changes for the better for us......How would you characterize our offense?
Is it improving or worsening?

If that was the only variable, then of course it would be. But it's not.

Offensive points vs. points that the defense or special teams scored (in the two games you referenced, their defense got them two of those scores, NOT their offense)
Quality of defenses they've faced
Weather
Home vs. away game

These are just a few variables.

I said that they were improving offensively AND defensively--so just give up arguing--you make no sense. The fact is CLE was a doormat at the beginning of the year and now they have won 2 of 3....whereas the shoe is on the other foot for us---I hope that we are able to get our offense back on track as that is our most realistic hope.

Either that JAX loss is looking worse, or that CLE game in a couple weeks is looking a lot more difficult...

So, because a team wins more games it has to be because their offense AND defense are both playing better? got it.

The Brown's offense AND defense have both been playing better as the season has progressed--that I have had to explain this to you over the course of 3-4 posts is a bit troubling..
