The tenders mean jack **** right now. No player will sign them, but every team still keeps throwing them out there.

That story hardly means that they are off the market unless they actually sign the tenders for some reason.

What's the rule on signing a restricted free agent who hasn't signed their tender? I was under the impression that the signing team still owed picks.

And Chris, I've had this screenname on another board for a long time now so I just decided to keep it. I love Plummer, too, so it just made sense.

Those guys aren't RFAs are they? I'm not talking about franchise tags, but RFA tenders. These guys are going to be unrestricted FAs once the CBA is worked out and are getting offers for way below market value with the RFA tenders.

Of course the guys getting guarantees of top 5 pay at their position will sign their tenders, but Bush and Miller aren't getting that kind of guarantee.

Gotcha. According to this site, at least one guy signed his restricted tender as of March 1st.

I'll grant you that Miller is getting lowballed with the tender, but I don't think 3.whatever million is way below anything Bush is worth per year.

Probably true, but I bet he gets more than that in guaranteed money if he gets a multi-year contract.

Well yeah, but multi-year contracts are fairly common occurrences after a player signs their tender. The only scenarios where that doesn't happen are usually with players who are obviously going to be signed to larger contracts than the original team can afford. That way both parties get what they want. This year is just all messed up because of the new CBA.

It was absolutely mystifying to me last season watching the Bears and seeing them NOT go to Olsen more. He was always open and never dropped a freaking pass, yet it seems like they hardly ever looked his way. It was very odd, especially when you consider that he was definitely Jay's security blanket in 2009 and they seemed to be close off the field.

That was my thought as well, they didn't utilize their TE nearly enough it was like Cutler was looking for the homerun ball every throw

Olsen would be a nice addition to the Broncos

Isn't that a product of Martz's offense? I was under the impression that he rarely used TEs as major players on his teams.

That's the only thing it could be. Yet another example of a coach that is so rigid in his system and beliefs that he won't mold it to the talents of his roster.

True, but it could be that they were keeping the TE in to help on pass protection more, and there's no doubt that Martz's offense lets the qb get hit a lot. Olson's a good te, but he may not be really suited to that system.

I think Kevin Boss would be a nice TE pickup if, and when, we have free agency, and, if we have not already addressed it in the draft by then.

Someone will still take him fairly early, just hope it's not us. One thing about Hampton University, they take a lot of guys who got kicked out of bigger schools for one reason or another. Then, their off-field transgressions get swept under the rug once they are there. Ellis broke a guy's nose and jaw in a fight while at HU and then it just disappeared. This was after he got kicked out of South Carolina for repeated failed drug tests.

Cowboys player ejected from mall for droopy pants


DALLAS (AP)—Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant(notes) was ejected from an upscale Dallas shopping mall after a dispute over the sagging pants worn by him and some companions.
A police statement on Tuesday says officers working off-duty on Saturday as security at NorthPark Center encountered Bryant and three companions wearing the drooping pants.

According to the statement, when the officers asked the four to pull up their trousers, Bryant launched into a profanity-laced tirade that prompted the officers to escort the four from the mall.
Police say Bryant refused to leave, however, until his “representative” could arrive and he parked in a fire lane until a friend arrived and persuaded him to leave.
No charge was filed. Bryant’s agent, Eugene Parker, declined to comment. The Dallas Cowboys did not respond to requests for comment.
