The card market became too saturated with garbage and gimmicks.

I have an incredible collection of John Elway cards. A lot of rare cards, autographed cards, jersey cards, etc....

I think I have 18 mint/excellent condition Elway rookie cards.

I have a lot of old football cards, some from the 60s, but a lot of awesome cards from the 70s/80s.

I was born in 1972 and got into collecting when I was very young, probably 1979 or 1980, but I was only 7 or 8 then. I started really getting into it and tried to take good care of my cards starting in the early 80s.

I used to buy a lot of older cards at garage sales and things like that when I was a kid and that's how I got a lot of my cards from the 60s/70s.

The market is still ****ed up for cards. If I ever got back into collecting, it would be to go back and simply collect all the Denver Broncos cards in the 60s/70s/80s that I'd need to complete team sets for all of those seasons.

The Denver Broncos used to have a giant collection of Broncos player cards from all of their seasons displayed in their team store at the stadium. I haven't been there for a while, do they still have all those cards on display?
Elway Rookie is hit or miss. A PSA 10 sold for $3500 recently. An 8 goes for $50. If it's perfect it goes for crazy money. It's hard due to centering and surface issues. I personally like the one that went through the clothes washer when I was a kid.

A great place to buy single cards now is comc.com. It's a site where people send cards in and they have a warehouse so you only pay one shipping cost. They have a lot of 1960's to 1980's Broncos cards that are somewhat cheap. You can make offers on everything if you have an account and have money in it.

PaniniAuthentic is the exclusive game worn dealer for Broncos stuff as well. Everything on there is kind of high right now. They had a good sale around fathers day. I missed out on the Trevethan game worn uniform for $300. Manning goes for $12k+.

My only interest is usually flipping for a profit (or at least trying to).

Yeah I remember buying my Elway rookie for $175 in the 90s and its not centered well. Now the cards worth maybe $25. I also saved up and bought TDs rookie card, I believe its 95 select certified, for $200. Last time I checked its worth $20. Was really sad to the card economy collapse.

Before the collapse, card prices were insane. I remember my Dad started collecting with me a bought 3 packs of 98 boman chrome at K mart. He pulled a rookie Moss with a then book value of $180......... for a card that isnt even numbered. There could have been 50,000 of them. Crazy.

We should be quite grateful that they signed PFM when they did for numerous reasons--a relative bargain of a contract being one of them.

Rod Smith apparently is one of the all time great WRs using a new stat called WOWY. Hopefully it may help his HOF case, but I doubt it. The key point of the article was more or less that Tim Brown should be in the HOF.

"Essentially, WOWY measures whether all of the quarterbacks who played with a given receiver were more efficient over their collective careers with him or without him."

In those criteria, he's getting a huge bump from Plummer.

Tim Brown is a HOF WR...no doubt. Rod was as good but not as dominant overall. I hope he gets in but there is no doubt Tim Brown should be in Canton...esp considering the run heavy team. Rod has 2 SB rings and that can never be part of Tim's resume...priceless!

Tim Brown would have looked great in Orange. I'd take him over Andre Reed and there is no doubt he should be in the hall.

I think the WOWY bump that Rod got was also due to Elway's #'s not being that great due to Reeves. Rod showed up at the right time when we switched to Fassel (and of course Shanahan/Kubiak). As well as having good seasons with Griese and Plummer. Moss being the only one even close to him is pretty interesting though.

Levi Stadium is a traffic nightmare.

Wait until an NFL game happens there. Hours of traffic.

Dalton's deal is actually 6 years, 96 million.

Not as bad as first reported.
