Brand new shiny indoor stadium? Seems like if you build it the Super Bowl will come nowadays.

Eh, it isn't really that bad in Minnesota, especially the Twin Cities.

I tend to agree will Bill Simmons' thinking about Super Bowl locations:
Quote:
There should be five trademarks for every Super Bowl experience. This is not negotiable. Here are the five:

1. Warm weather.

2. Serviceable stadium.

3. A downtown that's easy to get around.

4. Fun things to do at night.

5. A city that gives you that "Wow, what a city!" feeling.

Under this logic, only three cities should ever host the Super Bowl: San Diego, New Orleans and Miami. And you know what? I'm fine with that! Seriously, who isn't OK with those cities? So we rotate between the three of them ... and if they ever allow Vegas to host a Super Bowl, then we make it a foursome.

PErsonally I don't have a problem with it as I doubt I'll ever get to go and at least it's indoors (I don't want elements effecting a championship personally).

That said, I am already making plans to be in AZ during this years SB. I have friends there, and I can above hope we get to play the game and I can partake in some local festivities. I can't imagine the misery of going to see the game in Minnesota. Spending the whole week indoors, freezing any other time. Not much of a fun vacation.

I dislike it not for the game or the players, but for the people attending.

No it is not. It is significantly warmer in the Twin Cities than it is in Fargo and even our average temperature isn't that bad. I'd say that ~ 20 is the average. Google says 15.

It has been much warmer out this way lately.

That might have been a low instead of an average. I would never describe temps double digits below freezing as warmer. Less horrifyingly deadly cold maybe.

To Req's defense I will admit that you get used to the cold. We had one of the coldest winters I have ever lived through this year and as it wore on you get used to being out in below 0 temps, you learn how to dress and even what to eat to keep warm.

That said bringing people from places where it never snows into that environment is a culture shock.

I think Minn got it because they have all those under ground malls and walk ways. I was up there in the mid 80's and they had a lot of places you could get to without having to outside. With the new stadium and 25 years later it has to be even better.

You can, but not during the course of Super Bowl week. And that's even to mention the wind that you will possibly endure with it.
