Please link me to any negative incident involving smoking weed. I agree with the drinking though. Everyone drinks though.

You people put athletes on an imaginary pedestal while your favorite companies' CEO that's getting paid 100's of millions is off snorting a line and supporting prostitution.

If you people put yourself on this same pedestal you might be something.
Technically Federal law trumps state law. Which makes smoking weed Illegal. However the administration has chosen to turn a blind eye.

Life has choices, rules. You cant cry when you get busted for breaking the rules. The NFL is his employer and they make the rules. You DON'T have to play football. Mcdonads is hiring.. Oh wait they don't allow smoking weed either.

It boggles my mind on how you don't understand this.

Not really a CEO but how about Ron Washington the coach of the Texas Rangers?

Yeah, might as well just draft another player with Von Miller's talent. Sounds easy enough...

This post is spot on. If you don't like the rules get another job. If you think that you are treated like a gladiator and it is going to ruin your body forever then get another job. Playing pro football is a choice and you have to follow the rules whether you like them or not.

What you are saying is so preposterous I always though you were kidding but as hard as it is to believe someone could actually be that stupid it is starting to look you might be serious.

Like Asian sweat shops right?

What happened to the concept of improving working conditions?

What you are talking about amounts to servitude.

Are you comparing smoking weed to being a slave? Really?

I have personally known of two work place incidents where my fellow co-workers had to be treated in a hospital because they choose to smoke pot while at work.
I'm ok with banning it from the workplace and not employing people who choose to partake. UP UNTIIL they can determine if people were high or not while at work.

The rules are put in place for good reason.

If a professional football player can't smoke weed, I guess it's like working in a sweat shop?

I don't get it either.

I will say everybody deserves a second chance as long as they address the issue. Not everyone will take the second chance and run with it though. I am not to familiar with the case, don't follow much baseball. I see he was busted from 2009 on cocaine?

Have the right? Don't want to get into the employer employee relationships but you most certainly don't have the right to smoke or even drink depending on the rules of your job. If an employer says you are not allowed to smoke weed then you take the consequences if you do, which in most cases is a firing. This is pretty clear cut. Most American citizens in this country spark up a joint they will get arrested. One or 2 liberal states don't really speak for 48 others as well as federal law(which is a joke with the current admin)

Had to stop cause it felt like my foot was weighing down the pedal so hard I thought it was breaking through the floor. I was going 20 miles an hour in a 55. Had to pull over and sit until the weed wore off.

Pretty sure weed is going to be legalized nationwide within 10 years, and in the NFL too.

I doubt it will in the NFL. Just like it won't in certain private sector jobs. Last thing you want to do after smoking a joint during lunch hour is operate heavy machinery. Just ask that crane operator who killed people while being high on weed.

Permitted and permitted on the job are two different things.

Players can drink... but if you show up drunk...

It is possible to use alcohol responsibly as it is possible to use marijuana responsibly .

I bet they stop testing for it. Lots of players spark it up all throughout the season now, because testing is limited certain time periods.

Alfred Williams said some guys would smell like alcohol during Sunday games. There is no testing for alcohol, I doubt there will be for weed.
