Broncos K Matt Prater currently holds the NFL record for best percentage from 50 yards or longer. Prater easily knocked a 53-yarder through on Monday night, making him 16-of-21 (76.1 percent) in his career.

Now if he could just be consistent at under 50 yarders.

Nate Burleson leaned over early Tuesday morning to try and adjust one of the two pizzas falling off the seat of his black 2009 GMC Yukon. By doing so, the Detroit Lions wide receiver could be out of action for a long time.

Burleson broke his arm in two places in a single-car crash on Interstate 696 heading westbound near Drake Road in Farmington Hills, Mich., around 2:25 on Tuesday morning. Police were called to the scene. He was transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries but was complaining of pain in his left arm, according to Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw.

Turns out that pain is a broken arm in two places according to what Burleson's agent, Ken Sarnoff, told ESPN NFL Insider Ed Werder. The Lions confirmed Burleson will have surgery Tuesday.

Like they always tell these guys....nothing good happens after midnight.

If owned a piazza place in Detroit, would you deliver after midnight

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to bench quarterback Josh Freeman for rookie Mike Glennon, according to league sources.

The Bucs are making the change now because they feel it is beneficial for Glennon with the bye week coming after Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals, team sources told ESPN. He can start this week, then have two weeks for the coaches to review his performance and make corrections before the Bucs play the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 13.

I really think this can help TB and my ff running back Doug Martin. Glennon will be another good QB that the chefs passed on.

ATLANTA -- New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has a torn right Achilles tendon and almost certainly is out for the season, the Boston Globe reported.

Notice it took Watt to bring him down from the away side? That guy is carrying that team so hard.

I'd kill to have him in orange and blue.

Put on IR as I saw it on NFL channel. That is a huge loss for the Pats.

Seems it. Yet they are 4-0 and literally have no one on offense outside of Brady. At some point you'd think the castle has to crumble, but i'll only believe it when i see it.

Almost did last night and barely won against the Jets. I can't believe the Falcons wouldn't run the ball more, especially the 3rd and 1 inside the 10 late in the game.

Teams will take advantage of them now without wilfork. It just opens up more possibilities for teams now. Long season still to go.

Broncs lose Clady, they lose Wilfork.
