If he was coaching for the team who wanted to sign him to play, he could do both. Player coaches were very common many decades ago in the NFL. Of course if he was offered to play for another team, he would have to choose.

With regards to my comment, this post is almost worthless.

1. You're wrong. His neck is fine. The area that received treatment is stronger than a normal vertebrae.
2. Even if he did, how many other QB's have had the kind of injury that Manning had? I don't know of any.
3. Are you seriously trying to argue that a running QB and a pocket passer are equally at risk of injury? That just isn't true.

Someone that needs a cheaper and of course not as good Wes Welker can take a cheap chance on Stokley for at least a fill in until a player comes back from injury. He is no longer on some teams future roster (at 37 years of age) but a fill in indeed. Good luck to him and wish him luck finding another gig outside of the AFC West or NFC East.

So the Jags just lost both their tackles. In the span of a week.

Gotta guarantee that #1 overall pick. So how many games until Gabbert and Henne gets knocked out and The Tebow is brought in.

So we get the Jags at home with a backup LT? Thank goodness we get a bit of a break when we're so banged up. Get everyone healthy for Indy. Come home and beat Shanny and hit the bye...

Not sure if it was noted here yesterday:

Tom Brady was just a few games away from breaking Drew Brees record of 54 consecutive games with a touchdown pass. But Brady, as New England fell 13-6 in Cincinnati, saw his streak end at 52.

Yeah the Browns worked the Colts. No one is noticing because the Colts are winning, but it doesn't change the fact that the Colts gave up a lot for a bad player.

I still think it's way too soon to call Richardson a bad player, but the price Indy paid for him is indeed looking worse by the game.

Actually, the price is looking better because the draft pick keeps getting worse with every win.

Ironically, he could have tied the record next week against Drew Brees' Saints.
