Yup, just saw this and I was thinking the same thing. The Niners.....are awesome at every level. I can see them being ahead, if only by a bit. But I dont see how the Seahawks can be better. The biggest concern for them is the wr corps. They're average at best. Then its the oline......they're not the best pass blocking oline around. Everything else is pretty much stellar, but the Broncos have a truley elite Qb and no weakness imo.

One could make an argument for each of these weaknesses:

Underneath/TE coverage
Running game/run blocking/interior O-line
Pass rush

With how well Travathan played in man coverage, I dont see the Broncos having problems covering anyone, anywhere on the field. Going against a legit TE will be a big test considering last season, but I think the Broncos now have the players to shut them down or at least keep them in check.

The running game is the biggest concern for me, but I still believe they will be at least solid, middle of the pack as the season rolls on. The offensive line is great, and I havent forgot what they did when Tebow was the Qb.

I think the pass rush will be good until the Von comes back. Phillips played very well against Baltimore and he gives the Broncos the outside pressure they need. Del Rio dialed up some pretty clever blitzes, even sending Bruton in. As a whole, I dont think the Broncos will have any problem getting pressure.

And "Mr Glass" WR Danny Amendola has also been ruled out for week 2 vs NYJ with a groin injury.

I know the talk has been about the Pats receivers and now they have a couple injuries to key guys

But their defense was carved up by a rookie who barely played any preseason

they could have some issues this year

NFL leaves Scumbag Suh $100,000 lighter for knee hunting. I wonder if that's enough to get his attention?

Easy to do when you have the benefit of hindsight.....at the time of the 2009 draft, Knowshon Moreno was considered the best RB on almost everyone's board, those that didn't have him as the best had Beanie Wells with Donald Brown, Lesean McCoy, and Shonne Green being a notch below.

No head coach hits on all their picks...some hit more than others, and some miss more than others. Not to mention what a team needs and type of offense/defense they run usually helps determine who they draft.

If your defense was built on your DB's being good at man coverage, would you draft a guy who was much better at zone? Would you draft a Javid Best if you needed an Earl Campbell? Would you draft a ZBS OL, when you're trying to build a power run game?

Unless a chance to draft a once in a lifetime talent like Elway, or Manning, etc. was available, teams will generally select the guy they have rated higher at a position of need.

The Broncos weren't the only ones who didn't draft McCoy...Seattle could have used a RB but drafted Aaron Curry...Indianapolis took Donald Brown....Arizona took Beanie Wells....Detroit could have used a RB too, but chose Louis Delmas in the 2nd rd.....Cleveland could have used a franchise RB, but took 2 WR's (Massaquoi, Robiskie) and a LB (Veikune)

It's not that people thought that McCoy wasn't a good player, but had more pressing needs in their opinion. We drafted the RB who was considered the best RB coming out of college in 2009....very few if any knew McCoy would have a better career statistically to date, because the draft is a crap shoot.

I think we can all agree that the names 'Richard' and 'Quinn' should cease to be combined or mentioned together on this board, and we should probably stop using them individually just to be safe.

Every time I see that name it PISSES ME OFF!
Not as much as Alphonso Smith but fairly close.

Bump that, suspend his ass, fine him 250K and tell him if he does something again it's a 6 game suspension. It's gotten ridiculous with him now.

Only people who didn't see this coming were the Pats and the people slurping their kool-aid.

Are you kidding?

We had Peyton Hillis, Michael Pittman, Selvin Young, Ryan Torain, Andre Hall, Tatum Bell and P.J. Pope and you seriously believed that RB wasn't a position of dire need? None of those guys were as talented as Knowshon Moreno is.

I like you man, but you're ****ing crazy .......

Everyone but Pats fans (which includes much of the media) knew the dude wouldn't be able to stay healthy. Some things are just so predictable if you actually have a brain.

Belly has been striking out on Drafts, especially on D and now he is wiffing on FA's. Hopefully the Jets can embarrass them at home.

During that time alot of people thought Hillis was gonna succeed here after 2008 season. It was a position of need but I remember pretty much the entire fanbase thinking the broncos would go defense with that first pick. When it was offense people flipped out.
