so pretty much ANY celebration can be a 15 yard penalty now?
too many judgment calls in the league already imo.
so effing stupid to ban that.

Per beat writer Ron Wolfley, Mathieu's quick development has been "nothing short of stunning," and he's done it while learning four positions: Outside corner, slot corner, safety, and special teamer. Mathieu is truly a stud, and will make himself impossible for the Cardinals to keep off the field.

Nice to hear he is getting his life back together.
I hope he develops into a superstar player. He hopefully has learned to set aside the weed lust and focus on being an elite player. Kid has all the talent in the world.

they list all this stuff so that the refs can throw the flags based on their descretion and the player can't come back and say "I didn't know that was not legal". It's up to the refs to enforce these rules and I think the refs are smart enough to know that most of it is harmless and fun, like the mile high salute or the wavey legs sack dance. I think the refs are much more apt to flag a player for a solid hit rather than a goofy dance.

Trouble is these gray area rules are a perfect setup for a ref that has been made a offer he can not refuse by a guy named Undertaker to change the outcome of a game.

Dylan Gandy - C - Lions

Dylan Gandy continues to get the "bulk" of Lions first-team right guard reps.
Gandy has held off Jake Scott and rookie Larry Warford throughout the offseason program and into camp. It's still one of the Lions' most intense position battles. Warford and Scott are both mixing in with the starters, and we suspect the Lions want the rookie to win out. Warford clearly has the most upside.

He wouldn't be a bad guy to get away from the Lions. He has played some C with Manning before.

ESPN reporting Alexander out of the year with an ACL tear:

Source: Danario Alexander tears ACL
By Bill Williamson and John Clayton | ESPN.com
The San Diego Chargers have lost wide receiver Danario Alexander potentially for the season with a torn right ACL, a source said.

Alexander, who tore his left ACL three times in college at Missouri, has had a history of knee problems, but emerged as a playmaker for the Chargers last season. Starting only six games last year, he caught 37 passes for 658 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Chargers were hoping he would emerge as a starter this season

That poor bastard Danario Alexander simply isn't able to stay healthy.

Even going back to college, he has had enormous potential, but major injuries always sidetrack him.

Alexander put together a nice stretch of games last season for the Chargers, including a 7 reception, 96 yard, and 2 TD effort against the Broncos.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed free-agent tight end Deangelo Peterson, it was announced.

Peterson (6-3, 243 pounds) is a first-year player from Louisiana State University who spent last season on Washington's practice squad after signing with St. Louis as a college free agent.

He played 50 collegiate games (10 starts) for the Tigers and finished his career with 39 receptions for 459 yards (11.8 avg.) with three touchdowns.

A two-sport athlete (football, basketball) at Desire Street Academy in Baton Rouge, La., Peterson was born on Jan. 11, 1989.

Peterson will wear jersey No. 86.

I was hoping his knees would just literally explode during a game.

Losing Alexander is a huge blow. He was the only receiver that had any kind of chemistry with Rivers.

Feel terrible for Alexander but it doesn't matter for the Chargers. It's a rebuild year anyway.

At least you don't claim championship like Chiefs fans are doing.

No tears. I'm loving the new change McCoy has brought to the team. Hopefully it means great things for the long term.

I think McCoy will be a better HC than coordinator, and certainly better than Dennis Allen

McCoy was ready. Allen needed a couple more years of coordinating IMO.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 5m

Steelers WR Plaxico Burress has a torn rotator cuff, what could be a season-ending injury.

Nice to see my boy Dane Sanzenbacher with a 71 Yard Punt Return for a TD and a 36 yard TD reception for the Bengals.
