As NFL.com's Albert Breer points out, the Patriots build their organization with two-year windows in mind. A Patriots source told Breer that the Brady extension creates "well over" $30 million in salary-cap space over the next two years and $20 million for 2013 alone. In 2015 the cap will jump so that works out for both NE and TB. |

Good for him. He could have went to a team like Denver and charged 20 mill per season...

It may create room upfront, but again what does it do on the back end? That's gotta be a hefty price tag after the next two years..
Good I hope they use it all on Vollmer, Welker, and Talib. I don't want them to go get any talented players.. Watch they will go hard after Jennings and resign Welker.. |

Apparently not..
There is all kinds of speculation about this deal. The thing is, if the games bests don't accept market value it keeps others who are due from getting market value.. I hate New England.. They are going to try to load up on free agents.. |

Until the agreement was revealed yesterday, Brady was under contract to the Patriots for two seasons with a contract containing $30 million in guarantees. Now he's under contract for five seasons with $57 million guaranteed for injury. Brady's deal includes a $30 million signing bonus, which will be paid out over a period that extends to Feb. 15, 2015, according to a league source. Brady will earn $10 million of that signing bonus during the 2013 season, $5 million in a payment on Feb. 15, 2014, $10 million during the 2014 season, and $5 million on Feb. 15, 2015. Brady's salaries for 2013 and 2014 are now $1 million and $2 million, respectively, and are fully guaranteed. His old deal was scheduled to pay him $9.75 million in base salary for each of those seasons. Brady's salaries for 2015, 2016 and 2017 are $7 million, $8 million and $9 million, respectively, and are fully guaranteed for injury only, which means that if Brady is released because of an injury, he will still be paid that money. In the unlikely event that he were released due to skill considerations, he would not be paid that money. Regarding Brady's salary cap charges, the breakdown is as follows: 2013: $13.8 million 2014: $14.8 million 2015: $13 million 2016: $14 million 2017: $15 million The new contract also provides Brady more financial protection in the event he suffers a career-ending injury in 2013, increasing the money guaranteed to him from $25 million to $57 million. Brady has already suffered one catastrophic injury in his career, at the beginning of the 2008 season. While the Patriots save $15 million in cap space, there is nothing preventing the team and Brady from restructuring this deal again if necessary before the quarterback retires http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/...ed-deal-source Do you really think a 36 year old QB should have 57 million dollars left in guaranteed money left on his contract? |

If they get Bowe/Welker, Tavon would be a decent counter for us. Or, if Minny was dumb enough, Percy would do the trick.

The Jets are clearly looking to upgrade the QB position
![]() Jets | Interested in Brady Quinn? Wed, 27 Feb 2013 17:05:00 -0800 The New York Jets could be an option to try to sign impending free-agent QB Brady Quinn (Chiefs). Quinn and quarterbacks coach David Lee have a strong relationship after Lee has tutored Quinn in recent years. "I'm going to tell you this right now: Brady Quinn has a stronger arm than both the Manning brothers," Lee told the Denver Post in 2011. "No question. I worked them all out." Lee reportedly spoke highly of Quinn during his interview with the Jets. Brady's salary shouldn't impress us, he's not even the top earner in his own household.
What kind of man can he be? His wife's payload is THREE TIMES LARGER than his. No wonder he doesn't go deep into the postseason anymore. |

Danny Amendola going to hit FA market
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...eeagent-market This is the guy I would like to go after. He has missed some games but he is a big time WR who can make the common and spectacular catches. He is likely the 2013 version of Wes Welker if Welker wasn't also the 2013 version of Wes Welker...nevermind... |

No sense to pay a WR big bucks in FA when this draft is loaded out the rear with guys in the first four rounds who are going to be exceptional NFL players and over a half dozen guys who would be murder in the slot. Even good outside receivers who would allow Decker to get inside and do magic as well. NO WAY TO A WR IN FA.
The only thing we need to do is not sign Matt Willis and kick Caldwells ass to the curb. |

I don't want to see them pay Welker 8-10Mil but Amendola might come cheaper because of his injury history. The dude can ball. If we cut Caldwell, signed Amendola and then picked up a WR you like later then it is all good. |

Demaryius, Decker, Stokely, ROOKIE, Willis/FA/PS guy. I think we are gonna get another WR in the top 4 rounds. Sure hope we do. Great draft to do so. I think at least 15 will get drafted by round 4. |
