Default 3 Broncos fined.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP)—Denver’s lopsided loss to the New England Patriots proved costly for several Broncos players, with the league fining Ryan Harris, Michael Pittman and Jamie Winborn $5,000 each Friday for various infractions.

Harris, an offensive tackle, drew a fine for unnecessary roughness when he shoved a Patriots player late following a fumble by Andre Hall in the first quarter.

Pittman was penalized for a chop block in the fourth quarter and Winborn for grabbing quarterback Matt Cassel by the face mask in the second quarter, with the league deeming it a “major” face mask.

The Broncos fell 41-7 to the Patriots on Monday night, losing linebacker Boss Bailey (left knee) and backup quarterback Patrick Ramsey (right elbow) for the season. They also lost cornerback Champ Bailey for at least a month with a pulled groin.

Pittman leads the team in rushing with 316 yards and four touchdowns. Winborn is in line to replace Boss Bailey at strong side linebacker.

The Broncos (4-3), who lead the AFC West, are off this weekend.

Wow! Not only are all facemasks 15 yards now, but they also cost money now?!?!

This is gettin outta hand. I've never seen so many fines in a whole season as I've seen in these seven weeks.

Winborn should have just had the crap kicked out of him after that stupid penalty. 3rd & 17 with the Pats backed up against their own goal line. How many 3rd & longs have the opposition converted via penalty this year? Those are backbreakers.

Just to be fair, most teams we play convert 3rd & 17 against this efense anyways. I'm almost certain they would've gotten a first down without Winborns penalty...Sad but true.

Actually they didn't make the first down on the play cause he got rid of the ball which fell incomplete I believe. So yeah, they got the first down because of Winborns penalty...Sad but true.

That Winburn play, in the 80's Dan Reeves or someone like Tom Landry, a penalty like that could get your ass cut. Moron

Well I suppose, but I don't think they would have gone for it inside their own 10 yard line, but then again, they did go to the no huddle in the 4th.

Ryan Harris should be rewarded for knocking that a-hole Harrison down. The guy is a real a-hole.

NFL fines three Broncos $5,000

As if getting crushed Monday night by the New England Patriots wasn't enough, several Broncos added lighter paychecks to their embarrassment.

Right tackle Ryan Harris, running back Michael Pittman and linebacker Jamie Winborn were each fined $5,000 for their respective transgressions in the Broncos' 41-7 loss to the New England Patriots.

Harris was docked for his unnecessary roughness penalty that occurred while the Patriots were recovering an Andre Hall fumble in the first quarter. Winborn was fined for what the league called a "major face mask" penalty on Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel in the second quarter.

Had Winborn not grabbed the face mask, New England would have been facing fourth-and-18 from its own 8-yard line. Instead, the face-mask penalty gave the Patriots a first down and they went on to score a touchdown on the possession.

Pittman was fined for a chop block in the fourth quarter.

The Patriots had four penalties under the unsportsmanlike category, including two by nose tackle Vince Wilfork, but received no fines.

At least 2 out of 3 of those fines don't seem warranted.

This is the beginning of the end for the NFL as we knew it in the 70s-80s-even 90s. This crap may even be the catalyst for bringing back the USFL.

i know you are trying to be funny but this play is on the goal line of their own. I am not sure any team would be going for it on 4th and 17 at their goal line in that part of the game. It was a stupid penalty that Winborn should have had his ass kicked by his defense.

Our leading rusher is 300 yards in week 7?

That's ****ing pathetic guys, seriously. Our passing attack isn't top shelf enough that 300 yards rushing is going to cut it.

Wow.
