Default John Stewart Says What Needs to be Said

Finally, somebody says what needs to be said to those on the Right who think they are better than everybody else and have some god given right to question the patriotism of other Americans.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/1..._n_136484.html

I guess basically what McCain, Palin, Pfefernusse, and Bachman are saying is that all those New Yorkers who died at the WTC and all those Northern Virginians who died at the Pentagon were not "real" patriots. Nice.

hopefully these republicans will stay patriotic even when they lose the White House, and not turn into a bunch of people hoping for Obama foreign policy decisions to blow up in his face. I doubt it though.

Anyone who remembers the Clinton years will chuckle at that notion.

Clinton tried to reach across the aisle and to compromise with these people, and they just hated him all the more for it.

I'm talking about hoping for an attack so you can say see I told you Obama was a weak president this is what we get.

I for one hope Obama is going to do really well. Some people just want to be right more then they want the country to thrive.

You are guilty somewhat of it LABF. Take the surge for example, when bad things happened it seemed like you were happy, then when it worked you say it wasn't from the surge. You hate Bush so much it has twisted your heart into a black little ball where you won't give credit to the opposition no matter what.

Come on. Bush and his followers took a very complex event and tried to turn it into a sound bite.

There you go with the same old "criticize Bush's policies = hate America" slander again.

This kind of dishonesty is one of the main reasons your party is circling the drain right now.

Yep.

It's not my fault that the complexities of the situation are lost on idiots like cutthemdown.

Wow. People actually get their political views shared and news from a comedian on a comedy channel. Next they'll get an operation done by their mailman.

They report the news better than reporters do. They point out hypocrisies and idiocy. They give a better report than anybody on news television. I would argue Daily Show and Colbert viewers are much better informed than the standard American.

Let's just hope that both sides come together after the election regardless who wins.

Is it too much to ask for a clean corruption free vote?

We have serious problems that need serious solutions. Right now!

Unfortunatly I can see either side getting really ugly when this thing is over.

Sorry to have to pass on the "Kumbaya" moment, but I, for one, don't want to "come together" with these morally reprehensible, filthy, vile, criminal a$$holes.

I want to beat them down so badly that they never get up again.

If the Clinton years taught us anything, it is this:

Extend a hand to these c@*ks@ckers, and they will cut it off at the elbow every single time.

Reach across the aisle and they will see it as weakness.

Try to compromise with these jackals and they will cut your throat without even blinking.

Let them off the hook for their crimes, and they will live to commit the same crimes another day (if these last eight years aren't proof enough of that fact then I don't know what is.)

I'd like to crawl in the same snuggie with them.

You mean I shouldn't have let my mailman insert that into my slot....oh oops, that was wrong, bad..bad..me

As for the other, well here's the thing at least watching Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert I know they are entertainers. I find their perspective entertaining, but I recognize it for what it is, satire. However, having said that they also do help shine a little light on the inconsistencies in our media coverage, our politicians and government, it just happens to have a comedic focus. All the best comedy comes from real life for the most part.

Now the real news is just as skewed, feeding whatever audience that feeds their market revenue. However they actually claim to be unbiased journalists which is nonsense. Most of them are little more then actors reading off a teleprompter.

Now all seriousness aside here's a little bit from my dearest Jon (skewering both Dems and Repubs).

If Dems try that they won't hold there advantage for long IMO. Any type of witch hunt would make the public weary IMO. Also if they don't compromise the Repubs will fillibuster everything in Senate. Dems won't be getting to 60 IMO to thwart that. They will get close but Lieberman may not tow the line if it ends up a tie he will be very powerful.

I have a feeling LABF you will be disappointed in the Democrats because I don't think they will act they way you want. I'm not sure any politicians represent your out of whack views. Obama probably closer to me then you if you go issure by issue.

I dont know , I would let bygones be bygones ........Politics brought out the worst in us , bothsides , Bush did alot of damage , everyone sees that now , but we can fix Bush's **** ups , if bothsides pull together , it can be done rather quick ......
I love this country , I get to see alot of it , meet a lot of people ,bothsides . I had a guy today in Illinois stop and ask me if i needed help , he had a McCain sticker in his pick up , I told him i was fine , just felt a wobble wanted to make sure my tires were ok ...... I told him I was voting for Obama , he asked can I ask you why ? I said sure , I should him pictures of my kids , then proceeded to tell him insuring 8 people is killer , then I told him about what fuel prices did to trucking , and I really didnt understand we Americans providing free healthcare in South America and the middle east , then I told him how I felt about China , and wal Mart , and I feel voting for McCain would be more of the same , He told me he was a preacher , and he was voting McCain cause of Abortion , and McCain shares his values ...... I told him we are different , As i pointed out I am a dem ,me and the wife could have aborted the triplets , no one would have blamed us , so as we part company keep my story in mind , and remember I am not alone in this struggle ...he said he would and said he will pray for me and my Family , I shook his hand , thanked him again for stopping .............
