NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Not looking good for the Bile Moose Party.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27297013/ Obama leads among independents 49% to 37%. Ouch. 47% now see Palin in a negative light. Last edited by Rohirrim; 10-21-2008 at 03:37 PM.. |

14 point lead in the PEW report that came out today. I think PEW and NBC are the two best polling firms out there. NBC really nailed 2004, never once having John Kerry ahead of King George.

In the survey, Obama also holds commanding leads on the issues — especially economic ones. He has a 39-point advantage over McCain in handling health care (59 to 20 percent), a 21-point edge on improving the economy (49 to 28), a 21-point lead on the mortgage and housing crisis (45 to 24), a 17-point edge on dealing with the Wall Street crisis (42 to 25), a 14-point lead on taxes (48 to 34) and a 12-point advantage on energy and the cost of gas (44 to 32).

Chuck Todd just said these numbers represent a swing toward Obama by seniors, which would be the death knell of the McCain campaign.

I wonder if the Colin Powell endorsement moved the senior vote?

I guess the message is that conservatives should not vote?

Nate Silver says what I've been saying, it's all about early voters. The polls that have a ''likely voter'' model are trending way towards Obama because peeps that they previously eliminated as 'not likely to vote' based on past voting trends have, in fact, already voted and now count in their polling.

With an even higher percentage to follow when it becomes clear that she is dirty...
AP INVESTIGATION: Alaska funded Palin kids' travel (AP) AP - Gov. Sarah Palin charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business. |

I think the message is more that maybe you should give your choices a sterner look, instead of voting the party line straight down the ticket without question.
McCain is a politician from the last century with no ideas to lead us forward in this new century. His VP is ridiculously unqualified (mentally, experience isn't nearly as big an issue as that). His staff is full of corruption and his likely choices for senior cabinet members are just as bad. Obama on the other hand is one of the more intelligent Americans of a generation, has schooling and experience specifically in the political and legal spectrums, has new ideas in economics, social programs, energy, and foreign policy that are widely applauded by multiple experts in the field, and chose a VP candidate who is also mentally capable enough and experienced enough to help Obama quickly realize his goals. I don't find it very surprising that more and more Americans are turning to Obama. It has nothing to do with an unpopular sitting president or anything else but the fact that Obama is simply the better candidate to lead this country further into this century as a prosperous, safe, and healthy nation. |

Didn't see this tidbit posted, but it is telling who won't even vote for McCain:

I just wonder how some of you will react when the 2x4 of the reality that Obama is just another scumbag politician hits you in the face.
If you're like me, you're never surprised when a politician ****s up - and that is one thing they are guaranteed to do. How will y'all react when Obama ****s up? |
