Default HELP! 1st Broncos Game in Denver- What to do for fun???

Hey all-

My wife gave me an awesome early 30th birthday present- tickets to this weekends game vs. Jacksonville. Finally, a lifelong Broncos fan gets to see them live in some place other than the Midwest... Originally my wife was supposed to be along for the fun, but she is 5 months pregnant (1st child) so won't be making the trip from Central Illinois, so my brother (another life-long broncos fan) is joining me for the fun.

I'm just looking for some suggestions of what to do. We are flying in early on Saturday, and not leaving till late on Monday night, so we will have plenty of free time. Got the hotel and rental care reserved and we are ready to make this a great mini-vacation- so please throw out what you would do if you only had 2 free days for sightseeing- (Rocky Mtns, Coors brewery, Red Rocks....) obviously Sunday is 100% Broncos. Just looking for solid tips to fill up our Saturday and Monday. Thanks!

BTW, I have 2 extra tickets for the game, Section 535- just want the tickets to go to a Broncos fan- any reasonable offer will be accepted!

Where are you staying exactly? That'll help with some food recommendations, as well as other stuff to do. Are you and your bro fairly active or would you rather chill?

Right now the weather for Saturday looks pretty lousy, it might snow.

SNOW on Saturday- in October- guess that is Colorado huh...

Both my brother and I are very active individuals. We love to party, but do appreciate places like cigar shops. We are staying at the Embassy Suites Denver Tech Center. Hope this helps w/recommendations. We both love micro-breweries and places like Rock Bottom Brewery.

Probably LoDo (Lower Downtown) but it is a ways from the tech center. You might want to ride the light rail to avoid DUI, if you are going to party hard.
You might want to do LoDo before and after the game since the stadium is not too far from there. Have fun!

Do you guys both ride (guessing from your avatar). If the weather is nice, there is nothing better than renting some bikes and going for a mountain cruise.

Yes, we do both ride- that is one helluva suggestion. Do you have any recommendations for who to rent through?

Hit the downtown bars, drink and eat it up.

I like going on the city or mountain tours.

Shopping is fun as well.

Mile High Harley does rentals, looks pretty expensive tho. here is their website....

www.milehighrentals.com/rentalmodels

Its actually right on your way out of the Airport, and the end of Pena Blvd.

Not sure on the weather tho, might want to keep an eye on the forecast for the next couple days.

Yeah, not good now but it could easily change, cross fingers!

If you do end up doing it, and want some suggestions on routes, let me know. Did some really cool mountain rides this summer that you might like.

You'll want to visit the 16th Street Mall for souvenirs (perhaps something nice for your wife)... and the Aquarium is also very cool....

Great suggestions everyone- keep them rolling in please!

16th st mall will definitely be hit up for souveniers for the wife/newborn. Right now our unborn child has 3 outfits- 2 of which are Broncos themed!

If you have never been to Colorado you should drive down to Colorado Springs and check out Air force Academy, Garden of the Gods, then go drinking.

Or drive up to Red Rocks. I don't care what the weather is like, both places are cool in any season.

Enjoy, I wish I could go back out there with you.

IL sucks!

No that location has been a revolving door of failed restaurants. Alice Cooper lost his ass their also. Last time I was there it was some club.

I hear smoking weed is legal here in Denver.

That's almost always a fun deal.
