Well, it makes sense, I guess - especially in a 3-4. I just wish it was more because he was playing so well, we had to figure out a way to get him on the field - rather than because he sucks at DE, so we're throwing a hail mary.

At least we're not moving him to WR, a la Deltha.

Moss could play OLB in a 3-4.

The only reason Moss was drafted was because he fit into Bates D system, well Bates is gone and Moss is still here. Denver will have to try something with him.

When we played the 3-4 yesterday, what did the line look like?

DE - Engleberger, Ekuban
NT - Robertson, Peterson
DE - Dumervil, Thomas

Moss could play OLB and come in on passing downs if he can get pressure, but Williams and Bailey are set at OLB now.

In a 3-4 you do not want OLBs that cannot rush the passer--DJ is great against the run and in coverage--rushing the passer is not his forte--if we do go 3-4--DJ will be placed inside ........

Hmm, mold him after a Joey Porter type, that might work. Kinda sad we gotta change our scheme to accommodate a busted 1st round pick, but if it utilizes our talent better then it makes sense.

what position did jason taylor play in miami? Moss is almost the exact same size, right? I think they just need to figure out how to get him on the field no matter where he plays.

Like the move. Don't like that now everyone will say you can't judge him for another __ years because he is technically a rookie at LB, on top of technically being in the 3rd grade or whatever due to time missed from injury.

I created a thread about this very idea about 2 weeks ago and you (and most of the mane) couldnt have disagreed more....

Why the change of opinion?

It isnt a great fit, I agree, but I could see him doing reasonably well.

Interestingly, the article says:

"He does not fit as well into the 3-4 scheme the team has used at times in the past few games. "

I'm still trying to figure this one out...he *doesn't* fit into the 3-4 and yet we're going to try him at LB? Lemme know when this makes sense.

does this mean people are going to give him another year and a half to "prove himself"?

I can see it next year already
"Guys, dont be so mean to Jarvis, he is essentially a rookie playing OLB cuz he was hurt his first year and deactivated a lot his second year, gotta give him 5 years at LEAST to see if he can do it, afterall he had a staph infection like 4 years ago......"

Disregard anything Lindsey H Jones writes.... It doesnt often make much sense.

She probably meant that he doesnt fit a 4-3 OLB.
