Default All 4 turnovers last week belong to passing game

Don't know why but this sorta just struck me. I think it's a real indication we need to run more. Obviously I think we need to use the pass alot more then in prevsious years and we should because we have some real weapons there but just for the pure fact alone that we need a tad more ball control and steadiness in the offense. 2 INT, and both fumbles were from WR's last week. We need to pound the rock more. Or at least pass more to the backs. I think they have better chance of not fumbling.

Or maybe our rec'vrs need to hold on to the damn ball. Fumbles can happen in the run game, too. (Oh, and Jay needs to take radar lock off of Marshall).

Well we got rid of Tatum Bell so fumbles should happen less often. The more we pass, it seems the more chances of Cutler throwing a pick or a fumble on the pass.

Marshall's fumble was on a running play.

By the way, it's tough to "run more" when you can't run. The Chiefs held Denver to 19 yards on 10 first-down carries (before Pittman's garbage-time run as the clock expired). Do you really want Shanahan to become Herm and start running on 2nd and long?

Zona,

We're a pass-first team now, man. Like it or not, that's what Shanahan envisioned and we're there. The running game will be a novelty to keep defenses honest this year.

The way I see it, if we're putting up 30+ points a game, I'm not going to fuss too much over play-calling. Our ****-can defense is still the bane of this team.

good point and I agree, although I remember Cutler saying something after the Chargers game about them trying to run it coming out of halftime and that leading to our lack of rhythm in the third quarter...... seems like we should be able to set up the run with the pass the way things are going though, and I've got a lot of confidence in our RBs.

Hopefully when Torain comes in, we'll be a little more balanced. We'll need that when the weather gets worse although I don't think outside of a snow storm, Jay will be affected like other QB's.

Popps is right. This defense needs to keep plugging away while continueing to become at least average if we are going to have a chance.

As for Jay... he struggled for the first time this year. It will happen from time to time. This weekend will be a good maturation check for him to see how far he's come. There are going to be bumps on the ride with Cutler but sit back and enjoy all of them. I would love to see Cutler come out and answer the opposition with a 3 TD day.

I think the running game is awaiting the debut of Torain the train.

With the exception of the Safety, ALL the turnovers this season have come in the passing game. A positive in this is that it's been a different culprit every time (Except the picks). I highly doubt that there will be many 2 games stretches where Royal, MArshall, and Scheffler all fumble. I think without those fumbles we win the NO game handily, and likely win the KC game. I don't expect those guys to fumble regularly, so I'm pretty encouraged still.

Cutler has a **** game last week folks. It was a step backwards and he was pretty pissed with himself.

He "screwed the pooch," let's see how he responds this week.
