Default OT - Paul Newman has died.

Legendary actor Paul Newman dies at age 83 2 minutes ago
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080927/.../obit_newman_4

A spokeswoman for screen legend Paul Newman says the actor has died at age 83.

Spokeswoman Marni Tomljanovic says Newman died Friday of cancer. No other details were immediately available.

Newman was nominated for Academy Awards 10 times, winning a regular Oscar in 1987 for "The Color of Money" and two honorary ones. He was equally at home in comedies such as "The Sting" and dramas such as "Hud."

He sometimes teamed with his wife, Joanne Woodward, also an Oscar winner for the 1957 film "Three Faces of Eve."

That's too bad. He was a great actor. I loved Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Long Hot Summer.

Um, Anne Bancroft died in 2005. Are you thinking about someone else?

Fantastic actor, he did some of the best work coming out of Hollywood in the last 40 years. He always seemed to keep his feet grounded in reality, even as his fame soared. A real gentleman. RIP.

I loved all of his movies and as a young girl had a crush on him. Cool Hand Luke was my favorite. Had been married to same woman since 1958, "I've got steak at home, why go out for hamburger". He was also on Nixon's "enemies list". The man was passionate about his causes. Heaven is getting the better of the movie industry lately. RIP Paul
