Default Debate I - Foreign Policy

So it on tonight. Figure I better start the game thread ()

What questions do you want the candidate to answer? And will their answers change your mind?

It won't be foreign policy. There will be one or two fp questions and then it immediately switches to the economy. Jim Lehrer is no dope. Right now, nobody gives a tinker's damn about foreign policy.

I can't believe I seriously might vote for Obama. All my repub friends were aghast when I voted for Clinton over Dole. The thing is though that you have to vote against your party when you think they are going in wrong direction. Palin? give me a break she could never handle being President. I'd take Hillary over her any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Unless Obama says something that really turns me off I think I may vote for him.

And a sincere congrats to McCain for winning the debate - as his ads told me he did.

Yeah, that's me. It got to the point where I couldn't stand Obama
when he was running against Hillary. When he'd show up on TV I
would turn the channel. Said damn it, if Obama gets the nomination
I'm voting for McCain. Funny thing happened along the way.
McCain started talking and I realized he was was just spouting the
same old party line that Bush and the rest of the Republicans were
spouting. Sarah Palin was the final nail in the coffin. So though
I'd still rather have Hillary, I'd rather have Obama than McCain and
8 more years of Republican nonsense. This country is doomed if
McCain wins, kicks the bucket, and Palin is president.

The neat part about that is that he releases those no matter what happens.

I just hope Obama doesn't wander off into his esoteric mumble. He needs to keep it sharp and focused with some intense, emotional language. Inspire, dude! Inspire!

I like that there was another one with a quote from his campaign manager Rick Davis saying "McCain won the debate — hands down."

They really do live in their own f'n world.

The nice thing about this debate is it's not set up for short quick answers. There's 9 9-minute segments where each get 2 minutes than 5 minutes to go back and forth.

I'm sure McGramm will pull some bizarre stunt though ...

He's got to. He's desperate. Maybe he'll challenge Obama to a duel? Maybe he'll get up in his face and try something physical. The guy is a whacko. I just don't know how big of a whacko he is.

The one I see getting flustered is McCain. Twice he was confronted on his trickle down tax cuts and twice he ignored it. The moderator had to force him to comment.

Right now I would call it a dead heat.
