Default Overrated USC getting CLOBBERED

This is just good stuff.

**** the Pac 10.

Big 12 baby (and SEC too, but to a much lesser extent).

MU or OU would destroy USC.

Funniest thing you have ever posted. BYU should move to the PAC-10 or Big 12 and the rest should be dropped to Div I AA status.

Who does the Big 12 drop to take BYU? And what good are they other than an occasionally good year in football?

Maybe, USC is a great second half team but the fact that they were down 21-0 nothing against a 1-2 team being the #1 team in the nation at half time proves to me they are NOT the #1 team in the nation an dnot even close.

he league that used to complain about a lack of respect now is getting all it can handle.

SI.com even ranked the Mountain West Conference as the nation's fourth best, placing it ahead of three Bowl Championship Series automatic qualifiers -- the Pacific-10, Big Ten and Big East.

And this week the Mountain West fields three ranked teams for the first time in its 10-year history. Brigham Young is No. 11 and Utah No. 17 in both polls. Texas Christian entered The Associated Press' poll at No. 24 and USA Today's at No. 23.

It's not only a first for the league, but no other non-automatic-qualifying BCS conference has ever had that many teams ranked in both polls at one time since the system was created in 1998.

"I think there's no doubt, top to bottom, we're the strongest the league has ever been," Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson said Tuesday. "There's really not a week off (in conference play). To have six teams with one loss (or fewer) a third into the season says it all."

There is growing sentiment that although the league doesn't automatically qualify its champion for a BCS game, the strength of the conference will be enough to get the winner to one of those bowls even with a loss.

BYU is considered the likely candidate. One ESPN.com writer projects the Cougars making the Sugar Bowl, and another has them playing in the Fiesta. CBSSports.com puts BYU in the Orange Bowl.

Thompson didn't rule out a Mountain West team taking it a step further and playing in the BCS title game in Miami.

"It's a stretch, but it's a possibility," Thompson said.

BYU is good about every 5 years. The rest are good once in a life time.

That does not make them worthy of a BCS conference.

Do it more than 1 year for a couple of weeks and MAYBE one of those **** conferences gets a chance.

Utes won in the Fiesta bowl, I don't disagree with what you are saying. We are trying to schedule as many BCS teams as we can. That's why we are playing a lot of BCS teams this year and beating them. Scheduling BCS teams is an unofficial league rule to all the members AD's. It's the only way to beat a corrupt system.

Im not arguing about the system being corrupt.

But 9 times out of 10, a conference will have a year, maybe two where there are are coup[le of good teams but they cant do it consistently.

The Pac 10 has USC every year but most years has more than just USC.

The Big 12 and SEC are just not in this discussion.

Hard to argue with the Big 10 because of Michigan and the Crappy OSU.

I mean you cant have SEVEN BCS teams, that aint right.

EIGHT seems like too much.

You need to either replace a BCS conference or get rid of it (yay!) but then what about teams like Hawaii that play **** teams all year and go undefeated and get a bowl game against a real team and then get slaughtered?

Is it fair to serious conferences like the SEC and Big 12 who have tough competition at least 8 games a year? No.

Oh I know plenty outside of Big 12. I know the MWC conference fields one BCS team every 3 to 4 years and is never consistent. And I that most MWC schools and their fans have a huge chip on their shoulder because they are an inferior conference.

Meanwhile back to the game. USC had an early second half flurry but OSU put the defense brakes back on. If their offense can score at least one more TD and the defense hold up they should win this game.

Hard to count out a USC team in the second half down only by a TD though.

Still, USC has proven to me this week they are not in the discussion for best team in the country.

So far the BCS is 1-2 vs non-bcs teams in BCS bowls. I recall the Utes and Boise State doing quite well in their games.

Let me ask you this Alec, would you allow BYU to play in the NC game if they are the only team left undefeated?

And the Big East is a crappy conference, lets remove it and put the MWC in.

This game is obviously one USC overlooked. Everyone saw what USC can do to teams when they actually prepare. See USC Vs. Oklahoma NC, or even USC vs Ohio state this year.

Kinda.

Do you think BYU would go undefeated playing in a "real" conference like the SEC or Big 12?

No. They would not.

Not really.

USC had a good second half flurry to start but has been **** since.

We'll see how this plays at, but at the end of the day I gaurantee you USC is not ranked #1 in the next polls./
