Default Ed Hochuli Email

Has anyone emailed him? I did a quick search to find his email but had no luck. I want him to know he's human and everyone makes mistakes. Apparently he responds to every email he receives, I'm curious to see what he would say to someone praising him for being an honest, upstanding man.

I actually would like to get his postal address. I was going to send him a small gift, as a token of my appreciation.

I am sure he is waiting up at night hoping to hear from you....Instead of putting this entire ordeal behind him.

I heard today on the radio that Charger fans are sending mad hate mail.

Its cool that he is standing up and having some accountability.

People should be sending supportive emails, not hateful ones.

First of all, you have to be a total dick to actually write hate mail to the man. It's obvious he feels bad about it and that it was a total accident. Taking the time to write send that hate to him shows what trash some people are.

That he takes the time to respond to these losers shows how classy he is, but they really don't deserve it.

If you can't realize 1) it's just a ****ing football game, 2) everyone makes mistakes, and 3) that bad call was not the sole reason their team lost, and take it upon yourself to send hate mail to a respected man, you really deserve an ass kicking...which I'm guessing Hochuli is more than capable of handing out.

They still played football after the call. The Chargers had to stop them on 3rd from the 10, they didn't. They had to stop them on 4th and goal. They didn't (theres a theme to this). Then they had to stop them on the 2 point conversion. They didn't.

Cry me a river. Its not like they knocked the ball out of Cutlers hand with a great defensive play. He just dropped the damn thing. Get over it.

Hate mail is over the line. It's a freaking football game. Get over it!

Some people are too emotionally attached to football. Get a life.

Hey there Ed just heard about the hate mail you have been getting, and I know you feel horrible about it. Just wanted to remind you that I do believe you are one of the best officials in the game, and it just shows that nobody is perfect. Those that are sending you hate mail need to realize it is just a game. Had the outcome been different it would not have affected their lives in any way.

Don't know much else to say, just wanted to show support, tell you to keep your head up, and, as well as most everything, will pass through time. You may feel terrible now but hopefully 20 years from now you will probably be laughing about it. Nobody died from the call, nobodys taxes went up because of the call, nobody lost a relative because of the call. And also wanted to let you know that if San Diego is a bit too rough for you, we here in Colorado would love to see you move here. Take care sir.

I'm so tired of Charger fans being so pathetic. Sending hate mail is way over the line.

I sent him a short note yesterday and he emailed me back. He was very appreciative that I took the time to send him a positive email. The guy is really upset about that call as he said it will bother him for "a long, long time".

Luckily, it didn't take long for him to sift through those 10 emails.

If losing a game affects your life to the point of writing hatemail, you have deep emotional problems. It is only a game.

I emailed him Wednesday and got the same response back. He really is a class act, and I hope people let him move on. Hopefully ocho cinco will do something retarded and give sportscenter something else to talk about

I sent this email this morning. I didn't share the fact I am a Broncos fan becuase I thought it might cheapen the message (no offense to those of you who did disclose your allegiance). I have not heard back, but he's probably working and preparing to travel this weekend.

Dear Ed,

Lord knows you have had your fair share of attention this week. Football analysts and fans have weighed in on the topic at nauseam. Heck, even 6-month old babies had a take on the Chargers-Broncos game. What disturbs me the most is hearing about all of the "hate mail" you have received. I am a football fanatic through-and-through. And I have been known to get upset over a bad call or a certain moment of a crucial game, but in the end it's just a game. Football is the biggest and best sport in the world. The action on the field garners the interest and passion (or in this case, hysteria) of fans from all walks of life.

It is not fair that you are subjected to the public's ridicule. You stepped up, admitted the mistake and asked for forgiveness. In my book, that absolves you of further torment. I would like to personally thank you for the way you call games in a fair and consistent manner and act with the utmost professionalism, both on and off the field.

Keep up the great work!

Sincerely,
