Stay away from Ore, he has off the field problem and Beamer asked him to leave the team. And this is a coach that give the Vicks multiply chances

Yeah, Ore has had multiple infractions at Va Tech for various offenses.
YOU KNOW he had to be bad if Beamer kicked him off. |

Not bad. From what Ive seen Brinkley may be a reach in the 2nd but he has been playing well so who knows. I think more realistically we may take someone like Darry Beckwith depending on where we draft.

Yeah Beckwith is nice but i thought hed end up going in the mid 20s.
Brinkley is an animal though for a MLB. way more athletic too. But my mocks chang everyday exspecially in the off season. |

Yeah, ok, but also remember that Spikes is another MLB that is slotted to go high. Its also important to consider value for where the pick is. That encompasses where a guy is slotted along with the availability of a comparable player later. A lot of people like to take the shopping list approach which often neglects to consider value. Take last draft for example. Tackle and running back were the two positions of greatest value at 12. And that also means not taking a player who is overrated but is buoyed by a dearth of players at that position.

We took a tackle because we needed a tackle......
And the 2nd round pick being #32 as listed is basically a 3rd.....I doubt hed drop to the back of the 3rd so id go ahead and take him right there @ pick 32 in the 2nd if it was me. |

Youre being too myopic. We took a tackle because, yes we needed one, but also because it was a good class of tackles. If it would have been a down year for offensive tackles, we may have gone a different direction because we wouldnt have been getting value by drafting a 2nd round tackle in the 1st because OT was at the top of our shopping list.

Of course nobodyz gonna take a 2nd round guy at pick 12, But they would take a 2nd round guy at picks 29-30-31-32 of the first round......

But they were drafting at 12. My point is, if they draft a guy at 12, they cant solely look at what they need. They also have to look at value in terms of what the guy can contribute. In some years you may have tackles that are much worse available at 12 and in that case, youre not getting value out of them. And regarding your 29-32 reference, it still depends on where they feel the value is. This is why teams try to trade down.

What prompted the value discussion is where you have Brinkley. You might be right. If he's not now he may be a 2nd by draft time...but not from what Ive seen.

I like Brinkley as our MLB.
On the topic of Ore, I wouldn't be interested even if he wasn't a turd. I want a bigger RB. we keep bringing in smaller speed backs that are good change of pace guys, but I want a workhorse. I want a 20-25 carries a game RB. So to have that i want Denver to draft a RB who has a 6ft 225-240lbs frame. Basically i want a Michael Bush or Jonathon Stewart type in Denver. |
