Default Democrats better for the economy than Republicans

Don't know how to insert a Flash link for the interactive graph from the article but here is the direct link if you want to skip going to the original article.

Congress has more influence over the economy. They have the power of the purse. Also, the majority of governorships and state legislatures have been Dems over the last 50 years. That could affect the economy. This study is selective. I guess that's why they say there are lies, damned lies, and stats. Michael Kinsley is a liberal and, naturally, will use stats in a way to bolster his argument.

Purely anecdotally, I would have to agree with Kinsley. That's been my experience. Maybe it's because the Right are such small thinking mean hearted little bastards that when they are in charge you just feel worse about every thing. It's like having a ****ty boss.

Those stimulus checks were a tacit admission by Team Chimp that Trickle-Down 2.0 was a failure, and that those of us who argued "if you want to stimulate the economy, then you put money in the hands of people who are going to spend it" were right all along.

Read the critical commentary on the article - I would raise many of the same points.

The whole thing is statistical nonsense, based on cherry-picking numbers, and attempts to reduce a complicated issue down to a single number. It's BS, in short.
