So, seriously, how upset do you think fantasy football owners are after seeing Michael Pittman get 2 touchdowns yesterday?
The #3 RB has a pretty good points day, while the #1 and #2 backs contribute little, although Young's TD saved him from an embarassing stats week. I know some people will say "Who cares?", but I just think its funny how a #3 RB was in the top 10 in points for a RB this past week. hehe We rock ![]() |

Picking up a Denver running back and expecting consistancy in any FF format is like finding a smart rai_er fan with a job.

... Unless #30 Davis is playing for the Broncos.. now days for the Broncos as far as FF go.. its a crap shoot. I would not pick up Pittman for next week bcause as soon as you do.. Selvin Young will score 3 TDs. |

When Selvin scored that late touchdown I kind of chuckled and said, "hah, oh crap that just won me my fantasy game". Pulled it out by 1 point.

Great thread.
After Pittman's 2nd TD last night, I turn to my buddy and tell him "And there is Mike Shanahan's disdain for fantasy football players everywhere." |

selvin needed 50 yards/and or a td for me to win my league...when we were up I was pretty much content that i wasn't going to win, because of the dominating effort...I was pleased to see Selvin get a late TD so I won both the game and my ff game. Not sur why selvin didn't get more carries, I like how pittman runs at the goaline though...I didn't even think he was going to make the team.

Well, Jay Cutler + Tony Scheffler won me a game yesterday by 2 points. I actually did have Royal on my team, but on the bench in a keeper league, so yay for me.

Shanahan doesn't give a **** about your game, he only caqres about what the Bronco's are doing. This is almost as bad as the joker who wanted the Bronco's to stop scoring so his FF team would do better.
FF is bull**** and is ruining the way fans think about football. |

Fantasy football is completely worthless. There's no way to predict who will have what points. As a Bronco fan do you really care who got the td's as long as the Broncos players got them? |

Shanahan should piss fantasy players off. He may be more responsible for the modern day running back by committee systems than anyone. He has showed that it works to share the load and other teams have picked up on it.
10 years ago you wanted your #1 back to touch the ball 25-30 times. The game has evolved now to where teams want two backs that can get the job done. The target now is 20 touches for your #1, and 10-15 for your #2. Look around the league. It used to be that teams with established running backs would never even think about taking a running back in the early rounds of the draft. Now? Teams with very good running games are taking backs in the 1st round. In the long run, backs will no longer be done in the water at age 30. Last edited by Man-Goblin; 09-09-2008 at 08:49 PM.. Shanny's got nothing on Urban Meyer kicking a field goal when he had the game won just to cover the spread for the alumni.

I stayed away this year from Denver backs.
Didn't know who to draft, just went the other way. |
