ESPN sucks - The Orange Mane

Just took my lunch break, and was hoping to see some highlights of the game last night. Broncos Raiders piece doesn't come on until half way through the show.

It's the first week of the season. it's Monday night football and the Broncos look stellar and we can't even get any love? My feelings for ESPN keep getting worse and worse.

The "Stu's" on first and 10 said Raiders suck more so than we are good.

Compared to the Pack game ( it is not physically passable to say Farve any more times in a 4 hour span) commentators, Mike and Mike did a good job. I am sure many will disagree. As for highlights, yes Espin sucks a big one.

Greeny and Golic were not as bad as I thought they were gonna be. Ditka really seems to be going downhill. He's becoming way too soft. I will say Golic needs to tone it down some when Oakland has a nice play, you can clearly see he is a fan.

And yes, the ESPN coverage is pathetic. Watching the highlights it was just about every single play in the GB game and like 3 of the Broncos game. Lame.

I dont know what you guys were watching last night, but on sportscenter after the game they had in depth analysis with dilfer, the highlights, commentary from the mikes, and shannys presser.

What I liked best about the commentary was that for the most part, it stayed with the game that we were watching. No 20 minutes tangents on other players (Brady, Favre, etc). And no stupid irrelevant guests taking air time. This was probably because the game was so late and really only the raider and bronco fans were watching the game, but I thought it was a nice break from the original MNF production.

I'm watching Sports Center right now. They led with the Vikings Packers and didn't get to the Broncos until halfway through the show. Looks like croquet and badminton rank slightly above the Broncos on ESPNs list of priorities to cover.

They did alright IMO. Did anyone notice in the beginnning of the game that someone was breathing heavily into their mic? It sounded really creepy!!

yep, i noticed that. my suspicion was ditka.

i am thinking someone told the heavy breather to chill. i noticed a few more times later in the game, but not nearly as bad....of course i also turned the volume down to compensate. it was driving me nuts.

It WAS annoying. I am sure someone in the sound booth told one of those guys to calm down.
