WTF is this comment from his Monday Morning QB ??
"6. I think I'm starting to think Carson Palmer belongs in Jay Cutlerville. He hasn't been a commanding presence on the field for some time, I'd say going back to mid-2006, and I'm hard-pressed to think of him in the same league with the top five or six quarterbacks....." Fat ****er..... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...7/week1/5.html |

King is usually praising of the Broncos. I'm not sure what that comment is implying. Last year was Cutler's first full season starting and he was sick untreated diabetes. Is he saying Palmer is lethargic?

it means Palmer has reverted back to a 2nd or 3rd year QB.
IMO Palmer has been overated since day one |

He could mean that he no longer considers Palmer one of the top QB's in the league, and that he's now on a par with the likes of Cutler in the writer's mind.
As in he's a QB who has a lot of the skills but for whatever reason isn't able to get it done. And while we all love Cutler and think he'll be elite, until he starts putting it together consistently and winning games, he can't be considered one of the best. |

I agree with Schism, this isn't a jab at Cutler, this is saying Palmer has fallen back to the 2nd tier of QB. Difference is that Palmer is falling and Cutler is rising.

ouch that picture hurts my left knee
but seriously, what are the chances Cutler makes the pro bowl now? Brady is out, Manning is in even if he has a bad year because of rep, Palmer is regressing, Rivers..ha!....so I think Cutler has a chance. oh jesus, I just remembered Favre is now in the AFC...so he is going to be voted in twice...just because he is Favre...ugh |

I think that King actually likes Cutler. Here is what he said in his Week 1 predictions:
"In the Greenberg-Golic Bowl, the Raiders actually show up. Javon Walker actually catches a touchdown pass. But the story of this game is Jay Cutler beginnning to take his place among the NFL elite quarterbacks with a three-touchdown pass opener. Prediction: Denver Broncos 24, Oakland Raiders 17" http://fannation.com/peter_king_challenge/peter_king I think it is more of a statement that Palmer doesn't really look like a Top 5 QB right now, but a notch below that, which is where Cutler is right now. |

Maybe it's the 9-12 record to which he's referring, a good QB that's still learning on the fly. I think a lot of people can see that Cutler is the real deal and will be atop the list of best QBs in the game quite soon, but it may be a comparison where King is taking Palmer down a notch into the 2nd tier of QBs.
Still, Cutler > Palmer. No doubt. |

This weekend might be a passing of the torch to Jay Cutler as the elite QB in the NFL. Peyton is struggling coming back from injury, Brady is down for the year.

All we've seen is another great preseason folks.
Jay needs to start tonight if he is looking to be an NFL leader. I think he's got it, but he hasn't proven it yet. It all starts tonight... |

The top four AFC quarterbacks by rating right now are
1. Roethlisberger 147.0 2. Favre 125.9 3. Rivers 125.1 4. Cassel 116.0 Does Cassel get voted to his first Pro Bowl? Funny how he's a starter now and Leinart is on the bench. |

Palmer hurt his left knee as well right? That is the problem...he probably just lacks the same power on the ball if his mechanics got screwed up because of the knee. Brady will most like have the same problem...QBs hurting their front knee is always tough to overcome...
so I've been wondering since last night...why hasnt anyone invented a knee brace that protects against those lateral movements of the knee which cause ACL injuries without limiting mobility? Is it just not possible? |

You guys are missing the reference. This is a crack directly attributable to that idiot Fatsis. King has read the book -- he's mentioned it before -- and Fatsis' asinine contention that Jay is a poor leader ("no Pericles") is starting to take hold among bloviators like Peter King.
